back to work...

Postby AnnaB » Tue Jan 08, 2008 6:40 am

I'm back to work after 3 weeks at home during the holidays. I have moved to a new room in the office and everything has been pretty chaotic yesterday and today - starting to settle now though...  :)

But the other big change - my little Alva is starting at day care (or what is it called?) today. It's a slow start, only 1 hour/day during this week and her father is there with her, but within a couple of weeks time he'll be going back to work as well.

Our son loves to be there, so hopefully Alva will be fine as well. But still... it's a strange feeling and they grow up so fast!!!

That's got to be a big change for you Anna -- I hope little Alva likes it!  It's nice that you can transition her in slowly like that.
We got home Sunday after being gone for three weeks as well.  Fortunately I'm a bit jet lagged so I've been getting up at 5am which is actually nice when there is so much STUFF to put away.  I swear next time we go somewhere I'm packing  one change of clothes for each of us and we'll just have to suck it up.  Travel would be so much easier if there wasn't all that packing involved!  ;)
And I was so excited to have the kids start back to school yesterday, but.... snow day!  Being from Sweden I'm sure you'll laugh at this but by the time school started the snow on the roads was completely gone.  So waht happened last night -- snowed another half inch -- no school again!!!  I think I'll be doing the "no snow" dance tonight!  :D

Oh... how's it going with the snowing?  :) You are right - it sounds very strange to me that the schools have to close when it's snowing.  ;D It's not like we have a lot of snow in this part of the country, though. We've been out playing in the snow only a few times this winter, because there hasn't been much snow and right now it's only grey, wet and muddy outside and the temperature is ranging between 0 degrees C and maybe 5 degrees. The kids get sooo dirty from playing outside in this weather!!! But where my father lives, about 6 hours drive up north, there's a lot of snow, about 1 meter or more right now.  :)

After 2 days at day care everything is fine. Alva seems to enjoy her time there. So far so good.  :)

Tricia, I guess it was just your kids' school, R still had school, just a 2 hour delay one day.
