Teaming up with…Anchors

Hello. A few of us got together with the July Cabana kit to show you how we’ve used our ‘anchors’ this month.

Anchors seem to be popping up all over right now. We’ve heard comments like ”But I don’t live anywhere near the beach”. So we thought we’d share with you how we have used ours.

With that said I will start with Ashley. Ashley doesn’t live near the ocean, they don’t have a boat or do a whole load of swimming. But I have to say, the LO is stunning. I love all the layering .

This is what Ashley says about her page.

”This is mine. I used the anchor wood veneer circle and layered it with some punched paper from the kit, added the adventure card because the kiddos were off on an adventure, and I stamped the anchor tab stamp on vellum using Prima chalk ink, trimmed it, and stuck it on a toothpick to make a wee flag embellishments. Lots of anchors for a photo of the kids playing in an old quarry”.

Denise is spoiling us with two LO’s for this post this month. The colours on this just hit me. I love how Denise cut the title from the exclusive Cocoa Daisy papers.

Then using the adventure card again, Denise added some of the little alpha stickers to turn this in to her title piece. That works so well.

Alissa used her Letterpress Adventure card on one of her PL pages. Nothing to do with water either.

MandyK’s family just bought a boat, so she had the perfect excuse to use anchors on her page this month. I just love those waves Mandy made . So cool!

Sharmaine added an interesting turn on her adventure card. There are no oceans or lakes involved here at all. Instead Sharmaine has covered up the word ‘adventure’ with some alpha stickers to make her own title card saying that ‘Family are your Anchor’.  A great spin and a great way to show how versatile this kit can be.

I took a similar aproach to mine too. I used my anchors to tell the story of how Ade and I got together in the summer and that summer always feel so special to us. The achors represent how I fell for him ‘hook, line and sinker’. I actually cut the anchor from my adventure card and used a big bite to make a hole in the top to tie the silver string through.

I hope you have enjoyed this blog post and have enjoyed seeing how we’ve been using our anchors from this kit. It does show that you don’t have to have a beach visit to use them.

Thanks for stopping by today.
