February Sketch Challenge

Hello, Emily on deck today with the Sketch Challenge for February. Our resident graphic designer, Stephanie Wheeler puts the sketches together for us every month and then we interpret as desired. I used my February Double Feature kit and kind of shrunk things down and and played with placement a bit, but I loved Stephanie’s original design because of the rounded corners, such a fun touch, so I kept with that look.

I moved the little cluster on the right over to the left and instead of having a column of journaling, I added some rectangles that echoed the photos and journaled on them instead. Inspired by new team member, Kim Stewart, I used my Silhouette to make some pink and yellow leaves to add here and there. Such a whimsical touch that Kim adds to so many of her designs!

I embossed the title using the new Nate Alphabet and Silver Metallic Zing. I know that alphabet is going to get a lot of use. It’s got all the right symbols and is a really fun size. Love how it fits perfectly here.

So go ahead and try your hand at the sketch this month, do whatever you’d like to make it your’s, flip it, shrink it, rotate it 90 degrees, make it work for you. Upload it to our gallery by Tuesday, the 19th of February and share your link on this thread. There’s a $10 coupon code to the Daisy Boutique in it for the winner!

I love your layout based on this sketch Emily! I normally interpret sketches pretty literally, but I love how you “shrunk” the sketch and included a large amount of white space 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration!
