August – Today I am Focusing on ….

Hello, it’s Lisa with you today.

Today I am focusing on the fun Crate Paper Die Cuts that are included in the August Main Kit. They were the first thing that caught my eye when I tucked in. I’m a big fan of ‘bits & pieces’.

We are asked so often on the message board for us to go through the process of how our LO’s come together. So today I am going to show you how my bag of bits and pieces goes from this **points above** to this **points below**.

I picked my photos out first and laid out the Die Cuts so I could see what I was working with and started to move things around on my paper.

The Die Cuts are cute but not all of the suitable for my page, so I needed to get clever with layering. There will be lots of covering up going on here.

I’m not a big fan of the transparent dies cuts, so I like to stick them to white card and cut them out to stick on my pages.  You can also see here that the covering up has already started. Our adventure was on foot, I didn’t want that car on my page, so the chevrons will cover that nicely.

Another example of clever layering. This above turns in to this below.

I needed something extra for some of the layers to cover up some bits and I didn’t have what I needed in the Die Cuts. So I took the pineapple patterned paper from the main kit and a small heart punch and made my own.

This worked a treat.

More layering and covering up to be done on this side of the page too. No camping allowed on this page!!

9

I took a ticket from the pack of Die Cuts and a small circle punch and one of the small hearts that I’d just cut out.

Doesn’t that look so much better and more suited to my LO now??

So never be put off if the theming isn’t spot on for your work. There are always ways around the things. Clever layering worked out perfectly for me today.

I am so in LOVE with this Hemmingway Kit. This was the first LO that I created with it and I just couldn’t put it away. I hope you will love it as much as I have.

Theme specific die cuts and papers can be hard to use. Thanks for the tips!! Love your page 🙂

Aaahh…so it’s the pineapple paper that you used for those cute little pink and white hearts!
Love this, thanks for the walk through!
