Feature: Mini-Book Love
Hello, all!
Recently, I had the chance to get away for an overnight with my best girlfriends. We stayed at a motel in Putney, VT, because it’s about halfway between my friend Kristen (in Burlington, VT) and the rest of us (in CT and RI). We had no specific plans – we just went with whatever presented itself – impromptu wine tasting, spinnery tour, antique shopping. That’s often how it goes with us. We had so much fun and laughed so much that I needed to make a mini-album to document it. Perfect timing, really, because I’ve been cleaning out my scrap supplies lately and needed an excuse to use up some bits and pieces from old kits. Mini-albums are a great way to use up scraps! Just pull out a bunch of stuff that looks nice together and go to it.
I kept it pretty simple for this one. Just hole-punched with binder rings.
The cover is vintage wallpaper adhered to cardboard, with letters from the February kit stitched to it.
I love using Hambly overlays in mini albums.
That paper above is maybe my all-time favorite Sassafras Lass paper. We had it in a kit a few months back.
Ooh – here’s a little peek at one of March’s stamps (the arrows – LOVE!).
I inserted a vellum envelope for notes on some of our conversations.
And I LOVE the chevron stamp from February. I plan to get a lot more use out of this one!
I especially love it in gold!
Another Hambly overlay. I think this one’s from the October 2010 kit. And the yellow cardstock painted pink was a “mistake” from July’s kit. I save everything. Seriously.
And that’s the ledger paper from February’s kit, up there.
Thanks for taking a look at my project! It was so much fun to make. And remember, next time you want to clear out some scraps and bits – try making a little book!

What a priceless keepsake, Anja! I especially love the notes on conversation in the vellum envelope. Makes me ready to plan a girls’ getaway NOW!
I love it, Anja!!!
Love it.
Hi Anja, I love your little mini. Did you dye the doily gold yourself it’s gorgeous. And can you please tell me where CT and RI are, I worked out the VT from your mini.
Thanks, everyone!
Linda – I bought the gold doily at a craft store in the baking section. It came gold.
CT (Connecticut), RI (Rhode Island), and VT (Vermont) are all states in New England (Northeast US). The place we met up was about a 2-hour drive for each of us). Hope that helps!
Absolutely love the style on this minialbum
Thanks Anja
Love this! this is my favorite way to document a trip, in a mini. I love your simplistic, classic style!!!
