Tips and Tricks (Using Stencils)

Hi Daisy Girls, Kim here with you today to share one of my go to tricks when creating layouts! Using stencils was always something I wanted to try and when roaming michaels for different things to use in my layouts I was determined to fit them in somehow.  I love roaming craft stores looking for fun things to use. One day I picked up a set of oil paint stencils from the paint section and decided to use the letters and numbers as a way to layer frames on top of things on my pages and make little frames.

On this first layout I used one of the stencils and actually glittered the entire stencil and layered it with pop dots over another piece of paper which is a photo but it just acts as something showing through behind the 6.

For this sweet little tag I used a piece of patterned paper from the Pemberley kit and cut the stencil out.  I used a page behind it that I had previously water colored in a very pretty aqua color. You can use stamped images, glittered paper or pretty much anything behind it that will show through the cut out. I love the look of frames with things behind them. It’s one of the things I look for when buying supplies.

You can use your number and letter tags for birthdays, gift tags, and even as dates and words on your layouts!

Hope you found this little tip helpful if you’ve ever wanted to try using stencils!

Thanks for stopping by today!
