From the Daisy Patch

I hope you all enjoyed a long, relaxed weekend!  Scott was gone this whole weekend (we’ve successfully managed to spend only 1 out of the 4 weekends together! ) so it was just me and the kids. down the middle.   I had a hot date with Jack and Alice at a local pasta restaurant and I enjoyed myself way too much watching all the teenage couples coming in for their own very hot Valentine’s dates.    They reminded me how happy I am to be 40 instead of a teenager!

I always miss Scott when he’s away, but, am I a bad wife if I say that at the same time, I love the luxury of taking up the whole bed,  lazy mornings with the kids, letting them watch probably a bit too much tv and the three of us moving at a slightly different pace?  I think it’s only because he’s away so rarely that makes it any fun…

Beyond our dinner out, a whole lot of nothing went on around here this weekend.  The kids did get out and enjoyed a bit of basketball (I think everyone should have a neighbor who won gold in the Olympics for basketball and who puts out her basketball hoop for the kids next door to play with!).  The sun made a brief appearance and I tried to get some photos of the kids.  Jack has definitely entered into the uncooperative photo phase — this is the best I could do with him.
