A fun weekend, a digi challenge and more…

I hope you had a great weekend with the important men (fathers!) in your life.  We had a really fun weekend with friends of ours from Seattle.  Dave is one of Scott’ s best friends from college and his wife, Nany, is so wonderful.

It had been much too long since we last saw Dave and Nany.  We all just enjoyed a chance to hang out, catch up and enjoy all the kiddos!  Jack had a blast playing with Andy and Alice spent the whole weekend “helping” with Sophia their 1 year old.  But I think the highlight of the weekend for the kids was heading to the fountain downtown — especially as it was finally almost warm enough for something like that!

And Alice got a chance to show off her teeny weeny yellow polkadot bikini (didn’t even THINK about that when I bought it!).

Next time we get together with them there will be 5 little ones in the photo…and no, it’s NOT me!

I’ve been a total stress case lately — a little too much on the plate — but hey, I definitely prefer it that way!  So last night as I’m lying awake at 1am my insomnia actually became advantageous.   My racing mind finally hooked onto a useful thought.   I had taken pity on our parched garden and turned on the sprinkler at 3 o’clock in the afternoon.  However, I forgot to put on a timer and thus the sprinkler was still going.   I don’t even want to see that water bill!  I prefer to think that it could have been worse.  At least I didn’t realize it when I got up in the morning.

I’m trying to squeeze a bit of exercise back into my life in a small attempt at balance.  I love yoga and the kids decided that they need a little balance in their lives as well so we now do our yoga together.  So fun!

My other angle for cutting down on stress has been to add another employee.  Krista and her family just moved out here from Mass.  And funnily enough, she was a subscriber!  Previously she was in a project manager in Quality Assurance with Mass Life.  Definitely a perfect fit for us!

The other day she showed up carrying this purse.

And all I could think was “Wouldn’t that be a fun kit!”  You just might be looking at a very early sneak peek…

To kick off the first month of the digi kit Marissa and Brooke thought it would be fun to have a challenge.  They will give the winner a $10 gift certificate to Dreaming With Pixels.com and we’ll giveaway a $20 gift certificate to Cocoa Daisy.  Let’s see what you can create!  Also, look for a digi/hybrid tutorial from Marissa coming in this month’s newsletter.

And Marissa has just created another digi kit that works perfectly with the 8×8 Making Memories Noteworthy Album in the “English Garden” add-on.  We’ll have that loaded in the store tonight and it will be just $3.00.

Here’s a peek!

Ok, off to the post office and possibly the gym…

  1. “The toe in the mouth” is hilarious! your kids are adorable! What a fun week you’ve had! And thank you so much for dangling a $20 Gift Certificate as the Hybrid Challenge Prize  …maybe we could extend the challenge, :?: because I don’t know how many Cocoa Daisy gals know about this newest juicy prize.
