Adventures with Scrapbooking Kits

Scrapbooking is an adventure that leads you to new places to discover.  Scrapbooking kits are good guides; they help you plan your adventure but they do not live the experience for you.  Have you purchased one of our (brand) kits and want some creative ideas to make it your own?   Have you considered hiring a guide to help make the experience better?

Big Picture Scrapbooking can help guide your adventure

We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Big Picture Scrapbooking to offer you the chance to explore the world of online workshopsAdventures in Scrapbooking: Using Kits is a great class that will teach you how to use a scrapbooking kit in a way the complements your own personal style.

Taught by veteran teacher May Flaum, the six-week course is a great opportunity to try out Big Pictures Scrapbooking’s unique and challenging approach to online workshops.  Best of all, you can earn this class for free by telling us your favorite online scrapbooking experience.

 Ready for your next adventure?

Share your favorite online scrapbooking experience.   The scrapper with the best story as judged by the Daisy Divas by November 5th will be on their way to their own scrapbooking adventure!  A winner will be announced on November 6th.

  3. Christine H says:

Thanks for the chance…sounds like a great class.

  4. Sher says:

OK, I have to admit it, I’m a little afraid to jump on the kit bandwagon. I love the way they look but am afraid that I’ll end up with a lot of stuff I won’t use or won’t know how to use. Maybe this class will help! Sher B.

This is a great partnering. I love Cocoa Daisy and BPS. My best online scrapbooking experience has got to be the all day class/chat I had with BPS in Get Organized Be Inspired. I loved having assignments for the class while getting things done with the family too. Perfect combo.

  6. Olivia says:

Unfortunately, I have not attended any online scrapbooking classes :( Sad, I know. But I would love the opportunity to win a seat in May’s class! She is such an Amazing scrapper, and a beautiful person!

    Thank you!

  7. I have taken just about every class Big Picture Scrapbooking has ever offered and I love them all but I think my absolute Favorite Online Scrapbooking experiences have been participating in the Lay Out A Day Challenge hosted by Lain Ehmann! They started on the BPS website as a free class and I participated and loved it and have signed up and participated in every one since, even though it is now on Flickr!

The challenge is to make a layout (any layout) every single day and upload it THAT day for the entire month. October LOAD just finished. With the comments from other participants (‘LOADsters’) and the beautiful layouts everyone uploads it is just like going to a crop without having to pack up all your stuff and drag it around.

I have made more layouts during LOADs than at any other time or during any other class. During LOAD in Jan ‘08, Feb ‘09, May ‘09 and Oct ‘09 combined I created over 200 layouts! Which is unbelievably fantastic in my book!

The funny thing is, I would never have had the desire to be a part of it if I hadn’t taken so many awesome classes at BPS. LOVE that site!

Thanks for the opportunity to win a seat in May’s class! I really want to take her class! : )

  8. Brianna T. says:

I loved doing LOAD in 2008! It really jumpstarted me back into scrapbooking!

  9. Andrea MacDonald says:

I am in the middle of doing my very first online scrapbooking class. I am doing the “Technique-a-palooza with Julie Fei-Fan Balzer at: http://balzerdesigns.typepad.com
I love it. It is so much fun and I am learning so many new great techniques.

  10. Karen W says:

I have done a couple of BPS classes, the Jenni Bowlin class taught me so much and am currently in the middle of Ali’s class. This is turning out to be a very personal class with the life stories that are coming out, leaving many of us in tears.I think participating in these classes, as well as my favourite online experience of just the day to day joy of connecting with friends all over the world, is the best thing I have gotten out of scrapping so far.

  11. Laura #1943 says:

Sounds like a lot of fun….and who wouldn’t love a great class !! Thanks !!

  12. My best on-line experience has been a prior BPS class with May. She introduced me to Fiskateers.com and her blog. May is interested in her students and loves to teach. Fiskateers where May is now a Legend has brought me many good scrapbooking friends. I’ve learned about scrapbook charities which are cool projects and events. (Just spent an hour on-line chatting about this.) While local crops have been fun some of the best friends and activities have come from on-line contacts. Some of the best info, too. It’s how I’ve learned about Cocoa Daisy. I took a trip to Australia last year and met some on-line scrapbook Fiskateer friends while I was there. Being on-line helps me stay in touch with those friends half a world away!

  13. Maxine Hodges says:

Thanks for the chance for such a great prize.
My best online experience was when I joined Fiskateers. I made so many online friends, participated in charity works, welcome new members and in July 2009 was honored as Fiskarteer of the Year. I have so many online friends now that I would otherwise not had.

  14. Theresa Grdina says:

I haven’t taken any classes on-line…I mean to, but I just haven’t done it yet. BUT, my best on-line scrapping experience has to be enjoying all of the challenges during an on-line crop. What fun and what amazing talent!!!!

  15. Jodee says:

I’ve had a lot of good online experiences. I’ve taken a few classes at a few different sites and have had good luck with them all. What I really like about BPS is that most of the classes can be done on your own time. That is a wonderful thing in this busy world!
Thanks for the chance to win!

  16. Deana says:

I took Jessica Sprague’s class “Stories in Hand” around this time last year. It came around a good time for me, my dad was having surgery for prostrate cancer. I remember sitting in the waiting room with my mom and sister and the email for the daily class came through on my blackberry. While we waited, we talked about several of the daily prompts and reminisced about good times. It was wonderful to pass the time and have girl chat during that stressful time. Thanks for the chance to win.

  17. AmberCA says:

I have never taken an online class before, but I have thoroughly enjoyed being apart of Cocoa Daisy. Chatting on forums, posting my layouts and feeling part of a community, is has been a great experience for me.

  18. Vickie says:

I enjoyed taking Design Your Life online with Cathy Zielske. Currently I am taking Yesterday and Today with Ali Edwards thru Big Picture Scrapbooking. I’m also enrolled for the Scrapbooking with Kits class and wondering how I will ever keep up with them both. Thanks for the chance to win, love your kits!

  19. Donna U says:

I am just having so much fun with on-line scrapbooking. That’s all I seem to look at. There just seems to be no end to what’s out there. Classes, products, designers, blogs, videos, demonstations, tutorials. Read, listen, watch and I love it!

  20. Sherry G says:

I love Cocoa Daisy kits and BPS classes. Thanks for the chance to win.

  21. Helena says:

I have taken various online classes and the best for now has been Cathy Zielske’s MeTAV (The Abridged version) this past September. It was a 4 week class and I enjoyed every minute of it. Probably the best part were Cathy’s videos – she’s hilarious – and the class mates mailing board with a lot of suggestions and tips and tricks. everybody was very helpful. And now that they have made the access to classes available forever at the BPS, it’s even better.
I have NOT finished my album yet, but it’s in the works:)

The best part of online scrapbooking in general is the opportunity to connect with others who have the same hobby (some call it “addiction”, some “obsession”)all over the world. I have made friends with scrapbookers in the US, UK, France, the Netherlands, Greece, New Zealand and Australia.

  22. Cindy D says:

I’ve yet to take an online class. I’d love to someday!
I love getting some of my inspiration from scrapbook blogs just like this one! Thanks!!

  23. Nicole says:

I feel like discovering a new scrapbooking blog is a great thing every time it happens. My computer has to many booksmarks that take me to inspiring places.
Overall my best online scrapbooking experience is taking a class from Elizabeth Kartchner. I’m new to getting kits and this was a great kit has me looking for more. I used many new produts and techniques, like Tim Holtz’s crackle paint. It was a great class and opened my eyes to kits and other products.

  24. Rita Timmons says:

Awesome…. I’ve been thinking about joining that class… am totally addicted to kit clubs.

  25. asuslp says:

I am currently taking my first ever online scrapbook class—Ali Edwards’ Yesterday and Today at BPS. I can’t wait for Thursday mornings when I get to check my email for that week’s lesson. I print the handout while I am getting dressed for work and then begin counting down the hours until I can watch her video presentation. Ali is fantastic and she is presenting so many wonderful ways to scrapbook our “yesterdays” and “todays.” While I have made several pages with childhood pictures, I haven’t always done the best job of “telling the stories” in my scrapbook. Ali helps me to maintain my focus on the photos+words+memories! I am also totally enjoying checking the Gallery each night. The layouts and stories are beautiful and so inspiring that I have to keep a notepad near the computer to jot down ideas while I am browsing! I could just go on forever about this class!

  26. Connie says:

Love BPS classes – they have helped me learn so much; and not just about scrapbooking. Because of them I’ve used a message board, participated in chat, uploaded pictures and layouts, discovered blogs and a whole community of friends, ideas and inspiration. My favorite online class experience – the fact that I am connected to and interreact with the teacher and other students even though I’m out here in the country. I don’t have a LSS and am not familiar with Cocoa Daisy, but if I’m chosen I’ll be introduced to you in class and I’m sure we’ll become friends.

  27. Denise M. says:

ok, I would love to try the online classes. I can’t wait

  28. Dyana says:

I have never taken an online class before but I have been a part of chat boards for CKU and Creative Escape. It’s fun to talk to others about your plans and ideas! My favorite experiences are all about the shopping. Finding Cocoa Daisy online is definitely one of the stand-outs!

  29. Jacqueline says:

Scrapbooking kits are perfect for me… while I love to browse scrapbooking stores, I find kits (especially Cocoa Daisy’s) to be liberating: how great to receive all those goodies, that someone else has taken the time to coordinate, then go online and check out galleries…more time to scrapbook, less decision-making angst, endless inspiration. And Big Picture Scrapbooking brings it all together under Stacy Julian’s philosophy of telling your story. BPS + kits = a winning combination in my book!

  30. Sylvia says:

Wooo, in just in time! Thanks for the chance to win!

  31. MelanieJ says:

Congrats on BPS using your kits. They are always so beautiful! It was fun to visit with you at CKC this weekend. I’ll keep dreaming of Greece :)

  32. Sher says:

Did I miss seeing who the lucky winner was? I am just now catching up on things and forgot to check…Sher

  33. Connie says:

Like Sher, still checking after your e-mail response on Wednesday.

  34. Prior to Cocoa Daisy I had never subscribed to a kit but it definitely makes sense for those of us who live abroad – and you sure do compile lovely stuff month after month – I’ve never met a kit I didn’t like!
