Additional information added 10/3/09
I’ve been blown away by the initial response to our event in Mykonos next fall! With the help of the Hotel Kouros, Ali, Karen and Jenni, we are going to make Cocoa Daisy Destinations Mykonos a truly remarkable experience and we would love for you to be a part of it!!
Many, many people have been contacting us for additional information. I wanted to go ahead and supply you with some now before the registration site goes live. I’m waiting to hear back from our web designer on an exact date for that. It will be before the end of the month and we will definitely keep you updated on developments.
I can tell you that registration will open a day early for Cocoa Daisy subscribers. We expect that this event will sell out quickly and we want to give our loyal customers the first opportunity to join in the fun.
The event will be held from September 20th through September 26th at the luxurious Hotel Kouros on the island of Mykonos, the ultimate holiday destination!
Our goal of our trip is to bring you a one of a kind scrapbook retreat with the top names in the industry at one of the most beautiful locations in the world! Elina, the owner of the gorgeous hotel where we’ll be staying, is a very talented scrapbooker in her own right and knows what we as scrapbookers need to make a getaway absolutely perfect. (It’s almost serendipity the way all the pieces of the puzzle have just fallen right into place!) And Mykonos in recent years has become internationally famous for its beaches and as a haunt for the rich and famous. You’ll love the captivating scenery, the winding maze of narrow streets and squares, the windmills and lighthouse, the more than 500 churches and the exquisite sunsets viewed from your hotel balcony!
While you are withus we want to make sure you are completely pampered in an intimate, luxurious setting. Small class sizes, many opportunities to interact with the Ali, Jenni and Karen, and the spectacular setting will make this event exceptional. If you’vebeen waiting for ideal scrapbook trip, this is it! The emphasis of this trip will be to scrapbook on an island paradise with some of the top names in scrapbooking while also having time to relax and to explore this gorgeous island.
The Hotel Kourosis spectacularly built into a cliff side overlooking the turquoise waters of the Aegean and is just 300 meters from the city center. Each room has a private balcony with panoramic views of the sea and the nearby island of Delos. The already beautifully appointed rooms will be remodeled this winter and all the bathrooms were remodeled just this year. The hotel has both standard and deluxe rooms for double and triple occupancy. The triple rooms are considerably larger than the double occupancy rooms.
Cocoa Daisy Destinations: Mykonos includes all of the following:
- Classes with all three instructors, Ali Edwards, Jenni Bowlin and Karen Russell in a small group setting
- Double/triple occupancy for 6 nights
- A deluxe buffet breakfast each morning
- A pool side social hour with drinks and appetizers each evening
- All dinners (a variety of delectable Greek & continental cuisine prepared by the hotel’s professional chef)
- One evening out in a small group with all three instructors at a superb restaurant with a charming ambiance in the city center

- All hotel taxes
- Goodiebags, lots of special extras surprises and pampering all in an intimate, luxurious and supportivesetting with unique opportunities for personal interaction with the instructors
- LOTS of giveaways!!!
The cost of the trip is $2995. There will be a payment plan available and we will also be offering a 5% discount for early payment.
This is the only time Ali will be teaching in person in 2009 and 2010. If you have dreamed of taking classes with Ali — this is your one and only chance in a more than 2 year period!!!
I also want to emphasize a couple other special features of Cocoa Daisy Destinations — Mykonos: this event will be limited to just 75 participants. We will break the group out into smaller sections for classes and scheduled evenings out with instructors. We want this to be a very personalized event from which everyone leaves feeling they’ve recieved individualized attention and have gotten to know the other participants and the instructors as well! Another very important and unique aspect of this event is that the hotel will be reserved entirely for our event creating a one of a kind atmosphere in which to create and learn.
We have heard from several people who would like to come to the event with their spouse. Spouses are more than welcome to come. However, because we have a limited number of rooms for attendees and due to fix costs, we are only able to discount the rate for spouses by the cost of the kit materials. Spouses are welcome to join us for all meals and events. There will be tours and other activities available to spouses with additional fees.
We will also be offering other special tours and cultural experiences that can be added on to your trip. For example, participants can sign up for exclusive events with the instructors.
- Ali will host a dinner party for a lucky few at Nammos, the island hottest restaurant situated right on Mykonos’ hippest beach.
- Jenni will host an intimate lunch at Ithaki, another top rated island restaurant.
- And join Karen as she goes on a photographic tour of the island and finishes up at Mykonos’ other popular beach and restaurant, Elia.
In additional we will also be offering jeep tours, cooking classes and other island and sea excursions!
We hope that you’ll be able to join us on this unforgettable getaway!! Look for postings to come on sign up dates and additional information.
If you have questions, please let us know and we’d be happy to answer them as quickly as we can. Please contact us at mailbox@cocoadaisy.com. If you have already emailed with specific questions, the number of emails related to the trip has been staggering and I am slowly making my way through them. I will back to you as quickly as I can.
There is one caveat to all the fun – if you have impaired mobility I want to warn you that this may not be the trip for you. At the hotel you will need to be able to access approximately a half flight of stairs to reach the elevator and in town, most roads are far too narrow for even the smallest of vehicles to maneuver through. Taxis can reach one square in town, but in order to explore further, you will need to be able to get around without assistance. I’m not sure if a scooter could even fit down most lanes. I really want to spell that out as I would hate for someone to get to Greece and realize that they are not able to enjoy the trip fully.
Thank you and we hope to see you in Greece next fall!!!

Thanks for the input Kip!
It doesn’t say it but I wanted to confirm that the price does NOT include the actual airfare. I would love to try and sign up but would be coming from Europe so if the price includes airfare it might not work for me. It listed “airport taxes etc” so I wanted to make sure what the details where….??
The price does not include airfare, only transportation from the Mykonos airport to the hotel and back again. We had received interest from all over the world and realized that with people coming from so many different directions, it would be better if we did not include airfare.
I will have recommendations for travel agencies on Mykonos that can help you find the best airfares and information on intra-Europe charters. I am looking into possibly chartering a plane from the US or on getting a group rate in hopes of getting US participants the best possible rate on airfare. As soon as I have more information on that, I will make it available.
That would be great. I have domestic frequent flyer miles so I could use those to get to a charter flight.
Airfare not included…I’m assuming.
I am so super excited and know it will be worth every single penny. You cant possible provide this with airfare with the diverse group. I would certainly love to consider the charter. I cant wait and hope I am able to get registered. My only question is how many people will you be registering?
I hope I will be able to register for this. Sounds like you have thought of everything,Tricia
Girls, I think this is going to be sooo much fun!! An amazing opportunity to have the best teachers gathered in a fantastic place!! I have to tell you that Tricia has soooo many treats for you planned and down to the very finest detail (she is crazy about details!! lol) , it is going to be FANTASTIC!!
Omigod! I just got back from a cruise that included a day in Mykonos. It was my second time there and it was absolutely my favorite port of our entire 12-day cruise. Wish I could go again next year! (Everyone should sign up. You’ll probably forget all about scrapping and just soak in the wonderfulness of Mykonos!)
This is so exciting! I have been lucky enough to take 2 classes from Ali over the years and miss seeing her here on the East Coast — So I would definitely fly to Greece to see her!!!
Would have loved loved loved to come to Greece but I won’t be able to afford this, even though I’m only travelling from France… but I know you guys are gonna have so much fun!
The trip sounds divine! Will you have a detailed itinerary/schedule available to review before registration? With so much going on it would be nice to know the schedule before registering as I’m sure it will sell out quickly (faster than I can read:)). Also can you post the exact price for a spouse to attend? Thank you!
[...] Tricia is back from Greece and has posted more information about the event I will be teaching at next fall. For all the information click here: Cocoa Daisy Destinations – Mykonos [...]
This sounds absolutely fab. I would LOVE to come. Hope I will be able to register for this.
Question … The price you quoted if for how many people in one room. I did not see anything about choice of occupancy. Is there a choice?
Lucie
I just want to make sure I understand correctly…does the price include your own room, or do you have to share with someone else?
Wow…how I’d love to be there! It sounds incredible!
So $3000, that is one hell of a lot of money for a hotel sharing with breakfast and dinner (I noticed no lunch was included so that’s an added expense on top of the flights) and exactly how many classes are there per person for the whole week because if only a handfull this is not worth even thinking about. After attending a CKU with said teachers (apart from Karen) I was so not impressed with the projects which were all pre-cut and all had to be re-created in the exact same way as the sample which was old fashioned and basically a waste of money. I’ve yet to find an event that really caters for experienced scrappers. More details about the classes please!!!!
Thanks for your feedback. Let me clarify… This is NOT your ordinary event. We are not setting out to do something along the lines of CKU or any other scrapbook event. This will be an event catering to experienced scrappers, as well as those wanting to become experienced scrappers, all while being pampered at a luxury hotel in an extraordinarily beautiful setting. On top of formal instruction, we are designing the event with numerous crop and make-n-take opportunities, mini-workshops with our own extraordinarily talented design team members, tours and cultural classes. This event will also include unique opportunities to interact with the instructors and the Daisy Divas. We fully expect that all participants will leave Mykonos not only with memories to last a lifetime, but with new knowledge, friendships and satisfaction that they more than received value for their money.
Sounds like a fantastic trip! Wish I could go but right now am only dreaming….
I just wanted to say that I just got back from visiting Mykanos and it truly is a fabulous island and I’m sure this event will be wonderful! Just as a FYI-if you are impaired with walking, especially if you need a scooter, this is not the place for you. The walkways are very narrow and they’re also very uneven and are up and down constantly, on different levels. It is all cobblestone, so very uneven. I did not see one person there in a scooter and I think it would be pretty dangerous. Other than that, it is a fascinating and beautiful island!
My friend & I would give our eye teeth to come but it is unlikely that we will make it – we’re both pretty sure that the cost of the airfare from the bottom of Africa would make it cost prohibitive. Are you wanting all the money up front or are you planning a payment scheme with a deposit? Also, do we get our own rooms or do we have to share? I am a hopeless sharer!
[...] the other business note, I’ll post again on Friday with more information on Greece – like when the registration site will go [...]
I think I subscribed to this site so I could be on the list to register a day early. I’m sure hoping I “make the cut”. This is such an incredible opportunity….I can’t wait!
I could be wrong but I think when it says “subscribers” it means people who subscribe to the monthly kit club not to the blog…
Wow this sounds amazing but will you be posting the class descriptions before registration opens up??
When will be able to make reservations? And how will we be able to pay? And will there be travel insurance available…just in case? This reads as fabulous…what are free times during event? As always COCOA DAISY rocks out!!! Annie Harris
Tricia…you sneaky thing…now I know where you went last month! But glad you went…:)
Tricia…hopefully I have not missed registration for this amazing event in Fall 2010 as you speak of registration beginning mid October!
I would like to have a better idea of the activities and scrapbooking that is being considered. I recently attended the Beijing trip with Heidi Swapp and we had two short sbing projects and both were sent to us prior to the trip. I really wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Seeing Beijing was my primary reason for going. I knew that I would be traveling with people who had similar interests and attitudes. SBookers always make great travel companions!! What type of refund is available and up to what point can one expect to get a refund? Trip insurance? Will you match up individual travelers with other for roommates? I am really interested in the trip, but would like to have more information before signing up. Thanks
