Tips & Tricks :: One stamp, so many ways!

Hi Daisies! I am excited to be sharing some great tips and tricks using one stamp. I am sure there are even more good ideas beyond the ones I have come up with using the adorable pear stamp this month. It’s just that cute and versatile! So here are my ideas for now and feel free to share your ideas for this stamp- or any others that you love- in the comments. We love to hear about inspiration and creative ideas that you dream up too!

When I first saw the pear stamp I wasn’t sure how I could use it with the solid center. It felt a bit ‘limiting’ for me as I love to use patterned paper in my layouts and projects and I just felt it was so “solid”. But sometimes being unsure of how to use something is the very thing that can jumpstart a whole bunch of crazy, fun ideas! So I stamped the image and I did use it on a layout as you can see on this page-

Once I cut it out I realized that using the stamped image as a template was the way to go with this stamp for me. It went from being a solid inked image to one that has endless possibilities! From fabric to inked patterned paper to felt and vellum and even stitched! The more I played around with it, the more I loved it!

Here I used the pear shape along with the paper piercer and just poked holes evenly spaced around the outer edge, and then stitched the journal card and added a tiny face with markers. Cute and a whole different look than the stamped or fussy cut images! Keep this in mind for using other stamps that you may have too. Speech bubbles, geometric shapes, arrows and alphabets all work well with a variety of these techniques too!

I still have a few more ideas that I plan to try- one is making a tiny pear-shaped mini book or card, and another is to create a cute springtime garland using fabric strips and yarn pom-poms between cute pears. Hopefully these few tips and tricks have got the wheels spinning with creative ideas for you too. It’s always a good idea to just play with your scraps and I love that you never know what you might end up making just by letting your creativity go! Feel free to post your projects in the Cocoa Daisy gallery so we can see what kind of magic you create too! Happy scrapping.
