I struggle to write aplenty these days - my fingers are so much more used to a keyboard! Terribly sad I know & I do love the look of that hand-written envelope. What a treasure - I saw the post of the picture of it in your home, enlarged, if I remember correctly. I can tell you that our post offices here are NOT the same as yours by any means...usually the teller is on "tea break" while we wait & if I phone our local tracking centre I eventually give up after 15 minutes of holding. They don't understand here that what WE do at the PO - collecting or sending - is what keeps the PO in business...

Fun stuff! Our little post office is the same way. The people are friendly and truly grateful we are using the USPS. Even in my ETSY shop it is the only way I send items out. I cannot drive where I need to send my items for .44 so I do not complain when the rates go up. :) Even though shipping can be expensive it is still cheaper than driving to the location and dropping off your item and driving back home again.

There is something about the written word that is to be cherished. And I sure can't ever imagine hugging a computer to my chest. Perhaps that is why I scrapbook.

I think the postage went up to 44 cents recently, but I could be wrong, I just have those forever stamps which don't say.
I love happy mail too!!
I travel a lot and make sure to send at least a couple postcards from different places. Another fun thing to do is just send a postcard from your own city to someone... it's just nice to know when you're in someone's thoughts.

We live in a pretty small town, we moved here from the city and when we went to the PO the first several times, I was struck by how pleasant and kind everyone was that worked there. Truly would go out of the way for anyone...now all the ladies that work there know dd's name and call out to her whenever we stop in. Fun post! =)

This post made me smile, Tricia. My husband works for the USPS and is always bragging about how amazing he thinks the mail service is. He gets angry every time a package comes from someone other than USPS.
