Teaming Up With…..Summer Creations

Hi!! It’s Lisa here today and today we have got together to focus on Summer.

What does summer mean to you?

I used the August Kit ’80 Days’ to make this LO about my 14yr old daugther.

Using a combo of the main kit and also the addon ‘Hong Kong‘ I documented how as soon as we finished school for the summer Hollie had some blaue flashes put in to her hair. Living in the UK we have very strict school uniform policies. We can only do this outside of school term. The idea is that it’s faded by the time they go back in September.

I used the cardstock from the main kit and spread some white acrylic paint. I used the Fancy Pants Buttons packaging to make the striped flag under the photo and made two holes in the top to add the last piece of the wired ribbon from the main kit along with some of the sequins. I used the mini alpha stickers from the Hong Kong addon.

MandyKay made this cool Summer Mini Book this month.

Here’s what MandyKay says.

”We have been pretty busy, around here, this summer and I wanted to do some sort of recap, but a layout just wasn’t going to cut it. So, I made a mini book. I grabbed a Maya Road album from my stash, printed some photos, painted my base pages and got to work. I used my Cabana(July), Forecast(April), and Sketchbook(March) kits to fill the pages. They all work very nicely together and it was nice to be able to use up a lot of the left over bits I’ve had bagged up. I have left a few of the pages completely blank because we have one more, last minute trip before school starts that I want to squeeze into my book before calling it done. Once all my photos are in, then, I will add the journaling. I like my journaling in my mini books to read like a story. Our summer story hasn’t concluded yet, so that will be the last thing to do. This challenge has been the push I needed to get this project done early. I love that I have just a little bit left to do. Otherwise, it might have been next summer before I tackled it”.

Some of the other DT members have also been documenting their summers.

I love how Anna created the wave like shapes on her patterned paper here.

Anna says.

”I mostly used patterned papers from the patterned paper add on for this layout. They all go together so well! I punched circles from the star vellum and used my sewing machine to attach them. The arrows on top of the vellum are from another patterned paper. The orange dots are from the Hong Kong add on”.

Denise had a weekend away at the cabin. I love that title. I think that will make anyone with kids smile : )

Denise says.

”Using the main kit.
I used some modeling paste for the background and then used Ronda’s very very cool stencil on the top and bottom of the page. The photo is an instagram of a rainbow on our little weekend away at the cabin”.

Emily and her family had a trip to Mexico this summer.

Emily used the main kit with the Calcutta addon.

Kim’s LO here just oozes summer happiness. Look at this.

I love how Kim used the sequins from the main kit.

And finally Mandyk’s kiddies sharing some time together. Such a cute photo. Created with 8o days main kit, Calcutta,DITL, and Hong Kong kits

We hope you are enjoying your 80 Days kit if it’s arrived already. We would love to see your Summer LO’s. It doesn’t have to be using a Cocoa Daisy kit, it can be made with anything. Come and visit us on the boards here and share those summer inspired LO’s.

Thanks for stopping by today.
