Product spotlight~ Fun with cloud stamps!

Hello Daisies~ I am here with lots of ideas and uses for those cute cloud stamps that came in the April main kit. For some, the clouds have dumped more snow and rain than needed this spring, but the clouds at Cocoa Daisy never bring unwanted weather with them…just fun and inspiration! So let’s get to that, here we go!

I love that each month when the kit comes there are endless possibilities of what to create out of the kit contents, and that inlcudes the stamps for sure! I have a few ideas to share of how I used them with my April kit {which is sold out}, but with the Bumbershoot add-on as well {which is still available for purchase if you want to grab one for yourself!}. I love trying to think outside of the box, and that is one way to get more uses out of your stamps. One way to use stamps obviously, is to simply stamp them as is. Using various colors or adding glitter or embossing on them adds dimension, texture and changes the details of them. So play around with your stamps each month and see how simply using different techniques changes the way they look and feel.

Here are a few examples of basic stamping with the clouds:

In addition to stamping, you can trace around the actual stamp and create cut-outs. These are fun for adding dimension to your projects and you can use them in so many different ways. Here I cut and traced some out of felt. You can’t stamp on felt or fabric very well most of the time, but you can trace and use the stamp as a template. I used my cloud template and cut and layered a couple of clouds together with pop-dots for added dimension and texture on this card. There are so many ways you can use cut-outs. You can make a mask with your stamp shapes when you use this technique too. Like I said, endless possibilities!

Another way I used the stamp was to trace it, but include some extra border to the base of it. It changes the look in yet another way on this minibook cover and on this layout where I added the cloud and number 9 {which was a 6 on the cards in Bumbershoot add-on} to imply “on cloud 9”.

Sharmaine used her cloud as a border stamp on this cool page, instead of as a traditional cloud.

Look at your stamps in new ways each month and see how you can turn them, trace them, glitter them or any other way simply have fun and be creative with them! We love seeing your ideas in the gallery and hope that you are putting your Cocoa Daisy stamps to good use each month. Happy stamping!
