it’s CHA time

I admit I love watching all the sneaks go up on the sites.  About this time of year i am impatiently waiting on companies to post their summer collections.  So many good things i have seen across the blogosphere.  I cannot wait for stuff to hit the stores.  That’s the hardest part….waiting.  Here are some things that have caught my eye so far….

Crate Paper – Restorations

My Mind’s Eye – Mini Album (Lost & Found: Union Square)

Jenni Bowlin – Stickers

Studio Calico – Mister Huey

7 Gypsies – Library Drawer

Sassafras Lass – Mix & Mend

Jillibean – Alphabeans

For more CHA sneaks, check out the CHA Forum posts.  What are you drooling over this CHA release?  Are there any must haves?

going digital

By:      comments (2)

I always admire digital scrappers but  have never been able to fully dive into the digital scrapbook realm. I love paper too much! :) However I have done a few hybrid layouts but  Paislee Press and Karla Dudley Designs make me want to add even more digital elements to my projects!

What are some of your favorite digital designers? Have a great weekend!

Book cover inspiration

By:      comments (3)

Have you ever used a book cover as your inspiration when creating a scrapbook layout? I was going through my shelves the other day, and found these four covers. They are quite different from each other and I think they could all be used in different ways, as a fab inspiration for scrapping.

I created a layout using the July kit and add ons, and my inspiration came from Jonathan Safran Foer and the white hand on the cover of his book. I traced my hand onto cardstock and painted it with white gesso. I then cut the hand out and used my sewing machine on top of the dry paint. I wrote my title in the hand using letter stickers, and the word says “In my own hands”.

And a detail, showing the machine stitching…

If you feel like creating something with inspiration from these covers, I would love to see the result in the gallery!
