Announcing the winners!

Thank you again to each and everyone of you that either donated prizes or donated money to Linda’s cause.  Thank you too for all the heartfelt messages you sent along for Linda.  I’ll never cease to be amazed by the generous spirit of this community!  All together, we were able to raise $12,500!!!  The vast majority of those donations were $10.00 but when many give $10.00 it can really add up to a stunning number.   THANK YOU!!!

Linda also wanted to share her appreciation:

Our family would like to thank each and every person who was kind enough to donate to the Cocoa Daisy raffle and help us during this hard stage of our lives. I never imagined that scrapbooking would become such a huge part of my life. I loved it, and I participated in tons of online activities and sites, and worked for some amazing companies. But the best thing I got from this hobby has been the friends I’ve made. Most I have never met, and most of you I have never met.

Tricia has been so gracious and hardworking. I loved my time working for her, she was such a sweet boss. As she said, we now live in an upstairs condo, which doesn’t make life easy for someone like me. I have a 14 month old baby whom I can barely care for. My 7 year old is helpful, but he’s still 7. My husband and his mother are here, and we’re making it, but desperately need to move somewhere else.

I want to thank all the companies who generously donated the prizes for the raffle, as well as the scrappers who are making or donating a layout or other work or classes. Much thanks to Tricia, and all you who helped us out. It’s nice to know strangers can have such kindness and sympathy, as well as friends of ours. It’s just overwhelming. I never expected this to happen to me, but it’s reassuring that there are awesome people out there who care. Me and my family are grateful to everybody who had a hand in this.

I’m sure you are eager to hear who the winner is of the trip to Greece as well as all the other fabulous prizes so hear goes!

Congratulations DeAnne Wakefield!  You are our lucky winner of a spot in Cocoa Daisy Destinations Mykonos event!

A HUGE thank you to everyone for their donations to Linda!  We raised over $12,500 to help Linda with her medical bills and to assist in their move to a new place (that won’t require going up a flight of stairs like their current home).    The giving nature of the scrapbook world never ceases to amaze me!

Get inspired…

By:      comments (1)

When I feel like I don’t have any ideas but still feel the urge to scrap, scraplifting is such a great way to get the inspiration going and to get started without having to think too much. This time I found a layout that I really loved in the blog of one of my Swedish scrapbooking friends, Terése. Her blog is called I create and she creates both paper layouts and digital layouts. I just love her simple and beautiful style and this was the layout I fell in love with:

I pretty much copied Terése’s layout, using my sewing machine around the edges and a flower over the strips of paper.

The photo is from our first barbecue this summer… yummm…!
