Inspired by the March kit…

Hi everyone!

Inspiration is all around us and over the past couple months, I’ve posted little bits of it from sources outside the scrapping world. But let’s face it, we’re scrapbookers and sometimes we’re just inspired by the product! I’m in love with so many of the goodies released at CHA last month. Tricia managed to get some great new stuff into the March kit and there’s more in store for April. :)

I loved the March kit so much, I decided to post a layout I did last night that was essentially inspired by the pretty things in it. The two things I highlighted on this one were the GCD vintage ladies paper and the Jenni Bowlin banner stickers. The layout is about the contrast between my fashion aspirations and my fashion reality – the vintage dress got me thinking about that. I have a habit of photographing my outfits so I had this one lying around. I decided to put the two images side by side to emphasize the contrast.

The journaling makes the same point in words, although I really should learn to write a draft before I slap it on the page. I just realized that first sentence should be the other way around…

I added some GCD epoxy stickers and buttons – I’m really into round accents lately – epoxies, fancy brads, buttons, etc. And the Hambly doilies! I love them, I thought they added to the vintage feel, and they’re round so they fit right in with the other do-dads I had going on.

I accented the layout with a banner – the Jenni Bowlin stickers are fantastic and they were just begging to be made into a banner. I’m sure you’ve seen them all over the place – they’re really “in” right now and they look so cute on a layout.

The little chipboard clothes hanger (adorable!) was sprayed with glimmer mist and hung from the banner because it fit the theme and also, it’s adorable! And here’s the whole layout…

And that’s how the March kit led me to this layout. Thanks for letting me share!

Bye!
