You can pull together this adorable ornament together in less than 10 minutes! It makes the perfect embellishment for a beautifully wrapped gift!
Supplies:
* Domino (if you don’t have a domino, try using a block of wood or a few layers of chipboard)
* 2 Scalloped Hearts (one large and one small)**
* Distress Stickles in Fired Brick
www.balzerdesigns.typepad.com
* Red Glimmer Mist (I made my own, but you can use any kind you’d like.)
* Baker’s Twine**
* Red Button**
* Fabri-Tac (or another strong adhesive)
* Blue Ribbon**
* Scrap of Black Felt
* (optional): heat gun, toothpick
The items with a ** are from the February Cocoa Daisy kit.
1. Use Fabri-Tac to adhere the blue ribbon around 3 sides of your domino.
2. Gently fold down the excess ribbon onto the back and front of the domino. Use a toothpick and more adhesive to help you if needed.
Don’t worry about getting excess adhesive on the domino. You can scrape it off.
3. Tie a knot in the ribbon at the top of the domino.
4. Adhere a scrap of black felt over the dotted part of the domino.
This is both for visual appeal and to keep it from knocking into things once we hang it up.
5. Apply Distress Stickles to the small paper heart. Use your finger to spread it around. You can speed up the drying with a heat gun.
6. Spray the large paper heart with Glimmer Mist. Again, you can speed the drying time with a heat gun.
7. Layer the two hearts and the button and stitch them together with the baker’s twine, tying a bow at the front of the button.
8. Adhere this layered heart to the blank side of the domino.
That’s it! Just tie a knot at the ends of the blue ribbon and hang it up for a little Valentine’s Day cheer!
