More Sneak Peeks!

Here are a few more peeks at the February kit from our Diva Christine!  We’ll be picking a winner for the American Crafts giveaway on January 31st, the night of our reveal.  Don’t forget to check our messageboard that night for the winner and lots of reveal night fun!

Random musings….

I just got a new laptop this week.  Somehow a cup of hot water on the keyboard, a dead battery and a non-functioning touchpad made it unavoidable.  I feel like I’m letting go of a long standing relationship with a frienemy that I had no idea I was so attached to.  I had visions of this little baby sitting on my desk:

But, as my husband works for HP, I’ll continue to be a PC.  Sigh… I guess I’ll just have to live with mac envy!

Have you noticed the banner theme that is popping up all over in the new CHA releases?  I’m loving them!  You can find them in the new Jenni Bowlin release, the American Crafts Dear Lizzie line and I know I’ve seen them else where as well!  I’ve taken to checking out the decor8blog lately and I just saw a banner there that I love from artandghosts.  I love how the same trends run through scrapbooking, fashion and home decor.  What are some of the trends in the new products that are really catching your eye?

And did you catch Martha Stewart yesterday?  She had a segment on scrapboxes!  They were beautiful!!!  There is also an article on them in the February issue of her magazine (I think I’ll be reading that on the way down to CHA!).

Inspiration from a magazine

A fabulous source for inspiration is magazines and not just scrapbooking magazines. I bought a home décor/life style magazine recently and I immediately found several pages that inspired me and made want to scrap right away!

The first one is a page where the magazine presents some of the people working for them. The design could totally be used for a cool scrapbook layout.

The second one is an ad and I fell in love with the wonderful, soft colour combination.

Also the third one is an ad, that could easily be used as a sketch for a layout.

I definately look with different eyes upon magazines like this, than I did before entering the world of scrapbooking. Where do you find your inspiration? Do you have a favourite magazine?
