These are the first two layouts Ali has created with the kit! An instruction sheet will be included with the September kit with full instructions for creating the for the first layout as well as a second one (that we’ll reveal on Wednesday).
This first layout, “Hello Little Girl,” Ali created using products from the main kit. And there is more to come! Check back on Wednesday for the next installment.

With this second layout, “Boys and Girls,” Ali incorporated some of the add-on products.

An advocate for not making things more complicated than they need to be & embracing imperfection, Ali shares cool concepts, design, and project ideas in her idea books: A Designer’s Eye for Scrapbooking, A Designer’s Eye for Scrapbooking with Patterned Paper, Life Artist, and Sharing Your Story: Recording Life’s Details with Mini Books.
You can also find Ali’s monthly column in Creating Keepsakes magazine: Studio A (see the archives here).
“I started scrapbooking in 2002 as a way to organize all the stuff I collected after the birth of my son. It has become so much more than an organizational process for me – it has let me find my own personal passion and voice. It has become all about the process of capturing life and creating art.”
Read a post about why she scrapbooks here.
Ali licenses her designs with two leading creative companies to create products for both digital scrapbookers (Designer Digitals) and paper crafters (stamps for Technique Tuesday).
Ali lives in Eugene, Oregon. She enjoys travel, reading, politics from the sidelines, and spending time with her husband and two children.

Although we’re coming to the end of the month, we’re still enjoying the August Cocoa Daisy Kit. I only received mine early last week and wanted to share these layouts created with the yummy goodies.
Just breathe: Sometimes I need to remind myself to do this..

Happy Birthday layout: I love making smaller sized images (I use Adobe InDesign to plan the images before printing at home). And combining them with some larger images to tell the full story. It always results in a fun layout with a deeper glimpse into the images that help tell my story.
Other stories that can use this technique include: vacation pics, day trips, summaries of a school year, and even your favourite pics for the month.
Fun Sliding: I fell in love with these stripes when I saw them.. so much fun. So bright and happy. So this is my Fun Sliding page combining a few patterned papers from the main kit. Not an ounce of the plain cardstock to be seen.. The orange panel is from the plain side of the American Crafts Patterned Paper. The Fun scalloped edges are also repeated throughout.

Have Bike Will Travel: Circles! The fun and colorful circles are fun elements to repeat on the page. I used a pinhead, dipped in Chocolate Paint (from one of the Add-Ons) to produce the dots you see on the pink panel and on the title panel. Also dotted around one of the photos to draw the eye to it.

August was so much fun to play with.. and another one of those kits that keep on giving!! Can’t play with it enough…
Hope to see your August creations in the Cocoa Daisy gallery too!
xoxo,
Sue.

I’ve received several emails with questions about the Ali kit.
For clarification, the kit will go on sale in the Cocoa Daisy store on September 3rd. Kits are available for subscriptions now at this link.
Update: Sorry! I was just reminded that I missed mentioning that with a 3 month subscription the price of the kit is $45.50 and with a 6 month subscription it is $44.50. Each subsequent month is less $2 for the 3 month and $3 for the six month.
Yes, Cocoa Daisy will be doing an updated version of Ali’s December Daily this year — we are very excited to be working with Ali on this special project again! At this time we do not have an exact date of when those kits will be available but probably in the late November to early December time frame. And yes, subscribers will have first offering on the December Daily kits.
Please feel free to email us at mailbox@cocoadaisy.com if you have an additional questions or concerns!
Have a great weekend!

As you might have heard, our September kit will be our annual Ali’s Favorite Products!

And we are so excited to introduce you to this year’s kit! Ali’s kit last year focused on travel. This year she also wanted to base the kit on a theme and decided to emphasize her love of typeset and numbers.

In addition to using lots of great new products Ali also created some exclusive items for the kit. I’m already so in love with the stamp she created for the kit!!

As well as these adorable vintage journaling cards she created just for us!

Ali’s designs using this kit will illustrate how numbers and letters can be incorporated into any layout, mini-book or product.
And as with past kits, because there are so many great products that Ali wants to include, it will be a much larger kit than our regular monthly kit and will retail for $47.50. Subscriptions can be purchased in advance here and subscribers will be guaranteed a kit. The kit will go on sale to the general public on September 3rd at 12 PDT.
You can find a complete list of the kit contents here.
