“Scraps”
Hi there
Lately I had been going through a rather creatively unproductive phase. Whenever that happens, I do a few things to help me get out of the rut. One such thing is to clean and reorganize my creative space. And each time I do that, I feel guilty to see all the money that went into buying all those stuff that are sitting around for a while now. I also end up with a pile of scraps that I can’t convince myself to discard or recycle. I don’t organize them by colors, patterns, etc. but just toss them in a metal box that I got from Ikea. This time around, I decided to kick things up a notch. I sat down with my box of scraps and started making cards. I restricted myself to use only the scraps along with some tools like punches, scissors, embellies like leftover stickers, brads, flowers, etc. and glue. I ended up with quite a few cards. Here’s one that I made with leftover pieces from the last few Cocoa Daisy kits.

As you can see, it’s a very simple card but I’ll walk you through the steps just in case you want the exact dimensions.
1. Trim a 6×5 inches piece for the card front.
2. Cut a 1.25 inch wide strip from magenta paper and glue it to the bottom of the card
3. Punch a decorative border from a coordinating colored paper and cut the strip out.
4. Attach the punched strip over the magenta strip.
5. Cut the swirl pattern out with scissors and attach it from the bottom right side of the card.
6. Place stickers within the swirl to spell out the sentiment.
7. For an added touch, attach a brad above the ‘i’ sticker.
Hope this inspires you to create with your scraps
Enjoy your day!
