Hi Everyone! Happy Monday!
I’m stopping in tonight to share a few more layouts I’ve done using the May kit. Here’s something that always happens to me – I have the hardest time using the things I love the most! The more I like it, the harder it is for me to commit to cutting it or gluing it down. It takes me forever to decide. In the May kit, my favorites were the Sassafras Lass frames paper and treetop paper, the GCD flocked paper, the Jenni Bowlin die cut paper and the cream ball trim. And that’s why none of those items appear in my gallery. I had to wait for just the right moment for inspiration to come! Can you guys relate to that? Do you use your favorite things first? Or do you save them for last? Or do you hoard them?
I finally forced myself to cut into my favorites after shuffling them around on my desk for days and came up with a few layouts I really like.
First, there’s this one…

I cut the center out of the Jenni Bowlin paper and filled it with strips of patterned paper – there’s that tree top paper I love mixed in with strips from the glittery K&Co cut and paste paper. The picture is of Juan. We got him in college and now he travels with us for photo ops in various locations. Kind of like our version of a traveling garden gnome.
For the frames paper, I decided I’d have to cut out the frames so they could be used on multiple layouts.
I made this one…

That’s my brother with the mohawk (and my other brother on the keyboard). This picture cracks me up. On this layout I used frames that didn’t have pictures in them because I didn’t want them to compete with the framed art in the picture. Recognize the alpha stamp? It’s the one Kristina Contes came up with for us in August of 2007. I really love it and don’t break it out nearly as often as I should.
Then I borrowed Ronda’s idea of using the frames to highlight my current loves and interests and came up with this one…

I really love the frames on the flocked paper – reminds me of pictures on a wallpapered wall. I used my sewing machine to sew down my little journaling tags…

This last one is my favorite of the three. It took a while for inspiration to come but I’m glad I waited for it! There is so much to love in the May kit and add-ons. I’m glad I finally managed to use my favorites.
