The amazingly talented Anna did a tutorial on how to use the Heidi Swapp Invisibles paper that was included in your May kit. I used the paper on a couple of my layouts so I thought I would share a few of my tips too
I liked the idea of using masks on the invisibles paper just to give it another layer (plus I love any excuse to use a mask)!
Step 1: The first thing I did was decided where I was going to put my cluster of photos – I did this so that I could cut out the invisibles paper that would be covered up and use it on another layout – I didn’t want to waste a bit of it!! Then I adhered the invisibles paper to a piece of cardstock to make it more sturdy.

Step 2: Position your mask where you want it and pick out some ink colors. I used three different ink colors to give the paper lots of dimension. To apply the ink you can use a makeup sponge or one of my new favorite tools -the Tim Holtz Ink Blender Tool

Step 3: Now the fun part! Load your sponge or blender tool with ink and start swiping it on the paper and over the mask. I found that using a small circular motion while applying the ink to the paper works the best. Makes sure you get the ink all around your mask so that you have a nice crisp line around the design. Just keep adding and blending the different ink colors until you fill the whole paper.

Step 4: When you are finished inking remove the mask. This is what it will look like.

Here is a close up of the butterflies:

And the finished layout:

Now some of you may be saying “but I don’t have a mask” to which I would reply “well, make one!”
Remember that little piece of invisibles that I cut out and wanted to save? Well that is what I played with next.
Step 1: Using a paper punch – I picked a small circle, simply punch out the design from a piece of scrap cardstock.

Step 2: Lay your mask down and blend away. I was pretty random with my “dots”, just make sure to hold the mask down firmly while you blend so that it doesn’t slip. To finish off my design I went back and added a few smaller dots with another mask I created the same way -just with a smaller circle punch. I also used the masks to trace a black outline around each dot.

And the finished layout:

Just think of all the amazing designs you could make by using masks on this resist paper, wether they are pre-made masks or those that you make yourself, the possibilities are endless!! I also love how you can customize the colors on this paper to fit your layout! So much fun! Thanks for letting me share – have a great weekend everyone!
