March Madness

I have some more “March Madness” for you with two new layout using the March kit and the White City Add-on. I love how you can add on pattern papers that totally coordinate with the kits!

First is “Sing.”  And it is all about the layers.  In between the Pink Paislee & October Afternoon Papers is the 7 gypsies gaffer tape.  I love the added bits of black but didn’t want it to overwelm the page.  I used the 7 gypsies Stamp on the Chatterbox Paper (found in the “White City” add on to create my journaling pieces.  I love tucking in pieces between layers, like the punched flower.  Here is a detail view of the layers:

This next layout is a “Me” layout that may look superficial at first glance but really captures me in the details.  The journaling takes a deeper look about why these boots mean so much to me & how they even “represent” my personality.

I love twisting pattern paper & using it in different ways.  At first I thought, “Ronda are you really cutting that bracket paper?” I couldn’t believe I was doing it….seemed so wrong.  But then I took a deep breath and just cut it the way I saw it.  I then made a frame out of the bazzill scallpped paper and punched holes in the scallops.  I trimmed the Basic Grey paper to match the bracket paper using it between the two layers.  Before glueing it down, I penciled in the lines on the background paper & went crazy with my sewing machine.

A Springy Little Challenge…

Happy Spring to all my fellow Cocoa Daisy girls! :)

I don’t know about you, but I am SO excited for spring this year!  I can’t wait for the warm weather!  We already have flowers coming up next to our house!  I am a pretty ammature photographer compared to some of the girls here at CD, but every year I have a great time taking photos of the flowers in the spring.

I thought it might be fun to have a litte Spring Photo Challenge here at Cocoa Daisy!  Leave a comment for this post and share with me one of your favorite spring photos.  In two weeks (around April 6th)  I will choose a winner to receive a little prize pack!  Now, I realize that if you live in a different region of world or even different regions of the U.S. you may or may not have had signs of spring at this point.  So, your spring photo does not have to be brand new…but just one of your favorites!  Let me know if you have any questions.  I can’t wait to see your photos! :)
