Hello! Hello!

Sorry that it’s taken me a few days to get back to everyone following the food drive –  let’s just say that things have not been going according to plan for the past couple of weeks!  Sunday was spent trying to figure out how in the world we were going to get my in-laws here after they were stranded most of the day in Chicago on their trip out from NH.  Lots of HOURS on the phone, checking airline websites, weather reports, calls to them.  Then, when there were able to get to Seattle, coordinating with a friend to pick them up, getting them a hotel and trying to figure out how they were going to get 5 hrs (on a normal day!) south to our house.  More time checking out trains, planes, buses, shuttles between the Seattle and Portland airports in a desperate attempt to get them here. Nothing was running.  In the end we decided Scott needed to drive up to get them.  That meant more calls trying to find someone who had chains we could borrow for our car.  He left first thing yesterday morning to get them and they finally made it back here at 1pm TODAY!   So my grand plans of finally getting everything ready for Christmas and getting caught up with work following a week of kids on snow days on Sunday and Monday didn’t happen.  To say the least.  Oh yeah, to add to the fun Alice came down with the stomach flu today.  Fortunately she was ok with daddy taking care of here so that I was still able to drive down to Eugene tonight.  I drove down to get their luggage from the Eugene airport.  Only, there was no luggage yet.  My poor in-laws!  I was glad though to go down all the same as now I actually have SOMETHING to put under the tree for Scott and something to send to my nieces and nephews.   And now I get to get started on wrapping the presents!

So… on to the Making a Difference Food Drive!

Congratulations to all of you that contributed to our food drive!  I am very excited to say that in the end we raised almost 2954 units of food!  And, as I prefer nice round numbers, we are going to make it a solid 3000 with an additional donation.  Thank you so much for making this all possible!!!

I plan to announce the winners of the drawing on the 30th.  It’s going to take some time to work everything out and our family needs a few days to enjoy the holidays, my in-laws much too short visit, and a bit of time to recoup from the last couple of weeks!

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and I’m looking forward to making several of yours New Years’ extra special!

Thanks again!
