Don’t forget!

Today is the last day to post your entry for the November challenge.  Post them to the December contest album in the gallery to be eligible.

Thanks and please let me know if you have any questions!

Don’t worry — we are not all sold out!

I’ve heard from a few subscribers today that there were January add-ons that they had wanted to reserve but that they saw those items are sold out.  Not to worry — we still have add-ons left!  There is a small glitch with the way our shopping cart is loading products.  The only way we can have products loaded for viewing but not be available for purchase (until Jan 1st) is by having them as “sold out.”  We have our web designer working on this and it should be resolved shortly.

Well… we made it to Disney World today.  We are down here with Scott’s parents, brother and sister and their families and a few of his cousins.  It should be a fun few days!  The kids, of course, didn’t sleep the whole 9 hrs we were in the car (I’ve mentioned that they appear to be missing that gene), but I’ve determined that you pay one way or another when you travel with kids.  My kids, once plopped into bed here were out in seconds.  My brother-in-law and his wife have been dealing with their very cracky 1 yr old until 11:30 tonight because he slept so much in the car on the way down.  I think I actually prefer that our kids get right in sync even if that means the traveling itself can often be horrible.  The good news of this trip — Alice has FINALLY discovered that tv is really cool!  I know, pediatricians say you shouldn’t have small children watching tv.  I think pediatricians have never been home alone with children and have needed to actually get something accomplished.  I am so glad that maybe now she might actually zone out in front of it for a few minutes, say, when I desparately need a shower during her waking hours.  Probably not.  But one can always dream!
I think tomorrow I’ll actually post some photos!

A Belated Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!  We had a really fun day.  At 5, Jack is 100% into Christmas.  It was so fun watching him tear into the presents, look with amazement at Santa’s empty cookie plate, declare with every single gift, “I love it!  I’ve always wanted this!  It’s my favorite!”   But, as it turns out, all he really needed was the $5.99 remote control car my mom got him.  He hasn’t stopped playing with it since he opened it except when all of us forced him to stop because we just couldn’t take it anymore.

Alice, we finally woke up at 9:15 because none of us could wait any longer to see her to open her gifts (today we woke her up at 10:15 — don’t all 2 yr olds sleep like this?).  She is absolutely my girly girl.  She was a crack-up yesterday in her pink pjs with her pink cowboy hat, her pink tutu and toting around her 3 new dolls everywhere she went!

Oh, and yes, the packages with all the presents did finally come on Christmas Eve so Scott is out of the dog house!  And he was very happy with the itouch that had been in one of the boxes.  Maybe we are going to finally make inroads into the digital music age (but that would mean I’d have to get rid of the 1991 boombox that we listen to in the office…).

My mom was brought to tears by the iphone my dad gave her.  My brother was so sweet spending most of the day getting her set up on it.  He also tutored Scott on the itouch.  Thank goodness for technology-inclined baby brothers!

Dad loved his little electric gadget that tells him how far away the golfball is from the tee and his present to himself, a new camcorder.  He sat in his office most of the day figuring those out.  It was like electronic overload in the Kenny household yesterday!

The weather wasn’t the best yesterday for being outside but none of us minded.  The kids stayed in their jammies all day long, everyone played with their electronic toys or dolls, as the case may be, and I, believe it or not, actually spent hours on end scrapbooking!  It was sooooooo wonderful!!!  I am a beyond slow scrapbooker but I managed to create an entire mini album yesterday.  It’s a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law (we’ll see them on Sat).  It’s a heritage album of her parents from 1913-1930′s.  I really love the way it turned out.

Oh, and the diet is starting today.  I think I’ve been trying to see the fewest number of days it can take to outgrow a pair of jeans.  Apparently it is less than a week.  (Ok, they actually are still wearable, but just barely and I really am afraid to bend too deeply).  I’m toying with the idea of keeping a food and exercise journal on my blog.  If revealing my every bite to the web doesn’t help me monitor what I’m actually putting into my mouth and how much I’m NOT exercising, I don’t think there’s much that will….  Maybe starting on January 1st.

Speaking of the New Year, what resolutions are you making?  Last year I purposely made none as I knew they would be broke in just a few days and I didn’t want to be disappointed in myself.  I think this year I am going to put substantial thought into them and write them here.  Again, I think that might be my best bet for keeping me honest.    I’ll let you know in a few days… And I’d love to hear what yours are!

The Zoo, Missing Parcels and Christmas photos

We are really enjoying ourselves at “Marmee and Bop’s” house.  The kids LOVE being with their grandparents.  Jack told my mother the other day while they were decorating the tree that he wants to stay here always.  That’s the one thing we don’t like about Oregon — it’s so far away from all of our relatives…

I have a very good friend from when I lived in Denver who now lives in Birmingham, AL.  We decided to meet the other day at the zoo in Montgomery — which is exactly mid-way between us.  It was a smaller zoo and it was absolutely perfect!  There were so few people there that it was as if we had our own private zoo!  And I don’t think I’ve ever been so close to the animals at the zoo.  Literally, the lions had their noses pressed to the glass and we were just on the other side.  I’m sure they were dreaming of sinking their teeth into us.  The enclosures were very nice but we never had to search for the animals like it seems you usually do.  And there was a 1 month old baby elephant –  sooooo cute!  The strange par was that love was in the air at the zoo.  The lions and the monkeys were definitely having some romantic moments — something else I had NEVER seen at a zoo before!  YIKES!

It was so nice to see Patti and her little one Connor.  There are those friends that you can go without seeing for years on end and then when you’re together it’s as if you got together for coffee just the day before, it’s so relaxed and normal.  Patti is one of those friends.  I wished we lived closer but at least now I get to see her whenever we are at my parents’.   And Alice and Jack loved playing with Connor.  Over lunch Jack had Connor laughing hysterically which of course had all the rest of us laughing our heads off as well!

Yesterday we FINALLY took photos for the Christmas cards.  I was shopping with a friend when we saw these jammies and I immediately thought they’d be the perfect thing for the Christmas photo (and then when I saw them for 50% off,  I KNEW they really were perfect!).

And now, I’ll get my cards out just as soon as they arrive in the mail — with ALL the Christmas presents!  Scott is oh so slightly in the dog house right now.  I wasn’t explicit enough when I sent him to the post office and I failed to say ”Send them so that they arrive in time for Christmas!”  No, he sent them parcel post a week ago Saturday and they still haven’t arrived.  I thought I’d be working away on the Christmas cards this week and have plenty of time to wrap up those few presents I hadn’t yet wrapped.  Instead, I’ve got every appendage on my body hoping those packages arrive tomorrow!  Looks like we’ll be braving the crowds at Toys-R-Us tomorrow so there’ll be something under the tree if they don’t tomorrow!  Please keep your fingers crossed for us!

Have a good Sunday!

I just had to share!

Christine just sent me photos from the project kit she created for January.  I love the way it turned out!! She used the Danelle box (that’s filled with 12 little books) to create mini albums for each month of 2008.  This kit is going to be jammed-packed with products and will include step-by-step instructions.  Hope you like it as much as I do!
