By now we all love and adore Pinterest. I am so inspired by what I find on Pinterest and that inspiration quite literally finds it’s way into my scrapbooking and crafting. Sometimes it’s a pattern or a color combo. Some times it’s a page design, or a quote.
This past Christmas was a busy time creatively speaking and I loved making so many presents for people. However, the pressure to create must have gotten to me and for several weeks afterward I had a difficult time creating anything. I cleaned off my desk and just took a break. I started looking at flickr and Pinterest for some inspiration and I was not disappointed. Here are two things that jumped out at me last week.
This beautiful layout by one of my favorite scrapbookers, Emi Parczewska.
and this quote.
Doing a lift of someone else’s work is a wonderful way of getting past a creative block. As long as you give them credit for the original idea. So this was the layout that I created using both these images as inspiration.
I was very attracted to the vellum circles Emi used. This is a photo of my Dad and Mom in Rangeley Maine on their honeymoon. My mother is pregnant with my oldest sister. I love this photo so much and was so happy to scrap it. The quote was perfect.
So let’s see what you can come up with using Emi’s layout and this quote. It doesn’t have to be a layout, it can be a card, art journal page or mixed media.
