Tips & Tricks

Hi it’s Lisa here with you today.

I’ve made some really simple cards today using this sheet of October Afternoon  – Clothesline paper and some Kraft cardblanks.

The 12×12 paper came in the December main kit here.

I don’t know about you,  I love papers like this. But sometimes you go to work with them and then you have to really think how you are going to use them.

I made these 5 cards below in under an hour. I like sending out handmade cards, but don’t always have the time to make them so for me the best way is to keep it simple and make a few in one go. So I’ve teamed up the 12×12 October Afternoon paper with some odds and ends that I had lying around.

To add a very quick greeting to your cards, simply run them through your printer. I love doing this. It’s quick and easy and I love playing with different fonts.

This first card I cut out 3 of the flags. Each one is attached to the card with 3d foam and then a small piece of twine stuck along the top.

This next one I made a layered flower from the reverse of the paper. I roughly cut 3 circles, each bigger than the other, crunching and crumpling as I went. I added a very small brad to the centre to hold the layers together and scrunched up abit more.  The leaves have also been handcut and scrunched too.

I then cut some of the banners into blocks and handcut a heart. I wanted the heart to stand out though so I misted it to change it’s colour. A couple of stitches and that’s another card made.

I used this Crafters Workshop Woodgrain 12×12 stencil for my 4th card. I only used a small part of the stencil along with a foam dabber and a blue and a white acrylic paint.  I layered up a couple of the larger flags from the paper and a piece of ribbon that I had left over from another project.

And lastly I cut out a couple of the banners, the date part was cut from another banner and I used a couple of punches on the same paper to finish off  (and a touch of sparkel for good measure)

And that’s it. 5 cards in under an our from 1 piece of 12×12 paper and 5 small cardblanks.

Thanks for stopping by today.
