Saying ‘Hi’

Hi all, Mou here. This is my first post ever on the CD Blog and I’m excited. Today, I want to share with you a small project I did with my October Cocoa Daisy kit “Newbury Street”.

I love tags. Being small in size, they don’t intimidate me and I get instant gratification when I finish one.

I love to create in layers. So, I wanted to combine my two loves in one little project : a layered tag.

For this project, you’ll need:

WNP Chartreuse Tag
HS flower

Prima stamp ornate frame

AC Thicker Daiquiri - Black
AC McKeown Felt Ricrac Lime
White Velvet Ribbon
MAMBI Sanctuary Awaken
HG Blk & White Floral shimmer glitter

SR Hampton Turner St
Stamping ink

White cardstock scrap

Circle punch

Craft knife

Adhesive

Pop dots

Step-by-step:

1.  Adhere the flower toward the top right of the tag below the tag hole.

2.  Stamp the ornate frame onto white cardstock scrap and cut out with a craft knife.

3.  With pop dots, mount this frame at about the center of the tag keeping left.

4.  Cut out a small sprig from the MAMBI Sanctuary Awaken paper.

5.  Adhere it toward the top right of the frame overlapping the flower. Tuck in the bottom part of the sprig under the frame.

6.  Cut a piece of AC McKeown Felt Ricrac Lime ribbon to fit the width of the tag and adhere it below the frame.

7.  Attach a scrap piece of SR Hampton Turner St paper at the bottom of the tag.

8.  Cut out a ‘1′ from the other side of the same patterned paper and glue it to the base of the sprig above the ricrac.

9.  Punch out a couple of circle from scrap pieces of the MAMBI Sanctuary Awaken and HG Blk & White Floral shimmer glitter papers. Tuck them in

under the frame and one of the flower petals.

10. Use the AC Thicker Daiquiri - Black to spell ‘hi’ inside the frame.

11. Finally, tie a piece of the White Velvet Ribbon to finish the tag.

Now, you can use the tag as a free standing accent or use it to make card or even to embellish your next paper crafting project. Hope you enjoy making this dimensional and textured little project.

Thanks,

Mou
