Sweet Family: Kit leftovers

As you know, we’re not having a kit this month but that doesn’t at all mean that we can’t scrap. In fact, I’m definitely using this kit break to use up some of my stash and also from previous kits. And having loads of fun doing that!

Here are a few tips to spice up your creativity this month:

1. Enlarge a photo. Go bigger – 5×7, and 8×10 are fun sizes to work with – and photo printing stores are often doing good deals to help you cut costs on printing these. Don’t hesitate to print a few when they have offers and keep them on hand.

2. Journal on your photo. I’ve decided to do some fun journaling on this photo before printing it at a UK-based photo company.

3. Create titles in dimensions. For this layout, I added the word ‘Sweet’ using a banner from Making Memories, to the word ‘family’ in the title. So I have a title ‘Sweet Title’ with a fun dimension.

4. Add layers with different textures. Combine something soft with something hard in your embellishment. I’ve played around with ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ textures for the cluster of flowers in my layout. By combining chipboard with buttons, floral canvas and a touch of flair, I got a fun texture to finish off my page.

Can’t wait to see what you come up with! Upload to the gallery and link up to your creations in the comment section and we can all have a peek at how you’ve used your kit leftovers!

Love,
