Carnival Capers

This week many of you will be receiving this delicious Cocoa Daisy July kit.. and when you open your packs you’ll be in for a lot of fun because the goodies look so much better in person!
Here are some of the creations I’ve made with the kit and add-ons. I’ve had so much fun playing with the patterned papers that I’ve unintentionally¬† sidestepped the cardstock usage for many of these layouts. Too excited to get into the patterned paper lusciousness..

This one is a layout about my daughter and me… Pulling the green ribbon will reveal a tag with some hidden journaling..

Another patterned paper I really love is this ‘Anna Griffin Harlequin Sewn Paper’ that I’ve used as the base of this layout (found in the patterned paper add-on) I love the texture of this layout and how much fun it is to add layers on top of it.

Isn’t that lace ribbon luscious? I added some diamonds (not in the kit) to this one to add a bit of bling to the layout. The photo (5″x7″)was printed with the journaling, “Lara, I Love You”.¬† For added dimension, I used the delicious flowers from the Ferris Wheel add-on, and the Crate Paper Pink Plum chipboard, also from this add-on. I love layouts with loads of different textures, visually and physically. The chipboard alphas also add to the fun feel of the page.

I love how the tags from this Merry-Go-Round add-on lends itself to a clean, fun layout. For this one, I cut out the photos to fit perfectly into the centre of the tags. The white Basic Grey cardstock alphas are from a previous kit!

Here it is in close up:

This final layout is another about Lara, called ‘This Little girl’.. I grabbed a few elements from the Tunnel of Love add-on to create this fun cluster of flowers. I also enjoyed using a butterfly mask for the misted background using the luscious Maya Mist in the Merry-Go-Round add-on to play. The orange color really stands out giving my background my own personal touch. I had fun pairing the brads with the orange and polka-dotted flowers to use on different parts of the layout!

I hope you’ve enjoyed having a quick look through these fun layouts, and that they inspire you to create with your July Kit! The kit feels so jam-packed that even after these four layouts, I have a ton of stuff left for which I can create more! Can’t wait to get back to it.

Thanks for looking everyone!
