Month to Month
For quite some time, I have been wanting to work on an on-going creative project. 365 projects like a-photo-a-day inspire me and daunt me at the same time. Even 52-week stuff seem too involved for me and I TOTALLY admire the people who complete these tasks diligently. That left me with one option: a layout a month. Inspired by month-by-month style scrapbooks, I have decided to make one two-page spread about each month of the year. I know that all the stories I want to tell are not within the scope of such a project, but I want it to be a springboard for other more detailed stories.
When I mentioned this to Tricia and Ronda, they graciously gave me a slot on the diva blog to post my creation on the 9th of every month. Thanks ladies
So, I’m starting my month-by-month scrapbook album this month with the following specifics:
1. Using the 8.5″x11″ format
2. Starting with an opening page
3. Making a two-page spread for each month
4. Using the Cocoa Daisy kit for every given month (this will help because the kits come gorgeously coordinated filled with seasonal flavor-no guesswork needed on my part
5. Organizing my pages in a 8.5″x11″ viewbinder that I will decorate when my album’s completed by the end of the year.
Now, I’m taking this on after two years’ worth of procrastination!!! So, I’ll need all the encouragement and support I can get… play along with me, please
So without further ado, here are my opening page and an introduction:
Pssst… I did these two pages back to back on a double-sided paper from the January 2010 kit.
Now, once this month is over, I’ll create my spread for January and post it here on the diva blog on the 9th of February. Even though, I will not be making the page right now, I’m keeping notes of what’s going on in our lives… for instance, today Nini lost a tooth, Ashis came home from NJ after his conference, our Amaryllis is about to bloom, it rained today, it might snow tomorrow… you get the idea. Some days, there will be more to say than others and that’s just part of keeping it real.
If you can join in, please post your creations in the Cocoa Daisy gallery and link them with your comment to my post.
Hope to see you here
