Do you like scraps?
Do you like using them?
Recently my scrap room went through a storage overhaul.
I now have containers for my larger scraps
I have one container for cardstock scraps
and another for pattern paper.
I also tend to hoard the gorgeous Day In The Life cards (please tell me I am not the only one!)
So when I decided to scrap this page I started by rummaging through the cards
and pulled out the ones that seemed relevant to the story I was going to share.
This then gave me the colours I would create with.
So the next task was pulling out papers that would work with the colours on the cards.
The very best way to use your scraps…
CUT THEM UP!
Cut them into useable sizes.
Cut out pictures, journaling cards etc.
Just cut them up (or tear them! That’s my favourite!)
From here I was able to go through my embellishment stash
and, again, pulled out the “relevant to my story” items
From here it was all about building the layout
Letting the story come to life
With the help of all these “scraps”.
Allowing each element to work on the page
To capture just another part of the story.
Who knew that a bunch of mismatched papers and embellishments could do that!
So I encourage you to use those scraps.
Cut them up.
Find a way to make them work for you!
All scraps used are from various past Cocoa Daisy kits.
