Tales from the Bunker: February Edition

I cannot believe how fast this month has gone! Can you believe next week is the March Kit reveal all ready! I have a lot to share with you this month so you may want to get comfortable :)

First I wanted to give you a little recap of CHA, I have to apologize as I do not take many pictures at CHA due to the fact that I am usually walking around with a sticky pad and pen taking notes on what I like. But I did manage to snap a couple photos here and there. I’ve gotten this CHA thing down to a schedule that seems to really work well; the first day Ronda and I walk the whole floor, I take notes on what I like and what month I like it for, Ronda is always good at pointing out things that I sometimes just glance past and of course she helps navigate so that I don’t get lost LOL! The second day I hole up in the hotel room with the catalogs and my notes spread out putting the next few months kits together, thank God for room service and the ability to text Ronda for a 2nd look at some items! Then Ronda and I map out a route for the next day and I place all the orders! Easy peasy! I also get to spend a little bit of time with a few of the talented women on our DT. I got to see Emily, Kim and Nat!! I wish we could have had more time to spend together, hopefully Summer CHA!

So here are a few CHA photos:

Ronda and Lexi (loved having her with us for the day, it was her first CHA). This was at the Jillibean booth-aren’t they cute:

And me sporting my 70′s stache :)

At the Lilybee booth with Kristen:

With Julie Balzer (I actually had time on the last day to do one of her make & takes). We always have dinner with Julie, her Mom, Nat and Birgit. These dinners are always one of the highlights of my CHA ! Just an amazing group of women! They are so uplifting and encouraging and Julie -I love you girl, is always there to push and challenge me to be my best!

Here are a couple shots from the Basic Grey booth – they changed up the way they displayed their product and I think they did a wonderful job!

A few more cool display shots:

Of course some of the best times are dinner time! Dinner with Lisa and Ronda sure to make my sides hurt with laughter!

Aren’t they cute :)

Of course this is what Ronda usually looks like:

I was so thrilled that we got to spend a little bit of time with Elina and John from Greece! They were in town and on their way to Las Vegas. It was so wonderful to see them again!

Here are the newlyweds:

For me CHA is not just about seeing all the great new product and being inspired by amazing crafters, it’s about reminding me how truly BLESSED I am to have some of the most wonderful people in my life that I get to call my friends!

Now on to a few bunker items :)

Have you seen the new boxes? They make me GIDDY every time I look at them! Kinda cool how my initials and Cocoa Daisy’s are the same.

I have been working hard this last 6 months getting Cocoa Daisy transformed into the vision and direction I have for this company, it’s been a slow, sometimes hair-pulling process but I am thrilled to say we are almost there! Just a few more big pieces to fall into place.

Here is my niece Mary packing a few of the add-ons in our new brown paper bags. I went with the paper bags for a couple reasons; primarily because they are much faster to pack than the plastic ones, they are also kinder to our Mother Earth and I think they look like a present :)

Changing packaging when you are a creature of habit can cause problems though! The plastic bags were easy enough to add late product too, just unzip and you’er ready to go, a sealed paper bag however; not so much! That is where my slender handed niece comes in! Mary was able to add the spools of grey twine to the Dewey Decimal add-on without having to rip them open and repackage them! Now I make sure I don’t seal them until I have everything!

Blu was happy to supervise Mary’s handiwork.

That is all I have for this month! Thanks for stopping by the bunker :)

Best wishes,

Christine

Christine – we don’t care if you don’t take lots of pictures at CHA – anyone can take lots of pictures. You did what you do best which is build the amazing Cocoa Daisy kits for your favorite customers (wink wink). And all of us that can’t go to CHA are oh so thankful for you and your non-CHA-picture-taking-self.

    Hugs from Texas,
    Iska
