Keeping December simple~

Hello Daisies! Are you feeling the holiday rush right about now?! The countdown is on! I just have a few cards to share with you that I made using scraps and things around my house. Including branches falling off of my Christmas tree!

Sometimes I have such grand ideas, and I certainly have plenty of supplies to choose from, and I just enjoy sending homemade cards at this special time f the year. This year I have felt the crunch of a long to-do list and I haven’t made my cards quite as elaborate as I have done in the past. But I thought you might like to see a few of the cards that I did create, and maybe be inspired to create a few handmade cards at this late hour to show the people in your life that they really are special to you! abranchescards

These first two cards I made using folded paper as my base, and then they centered on a couple of pieces that had fallen off of my tree. We neglected to water our Frasier fir one day and it has dropped a few of these branches, and to me putting ‘live greenery’ on a card was a fun way to say “merry Christmas”. I kept them simple and added a piece of tissue to lay over them before putting them in the packages I sent out. I didn’t send these directly in the mail {they were tucked in gift boxes} due to their fragile nature. This kind of card is fun to give to a neighbor, co-worker or family member that you will see and can hand-deliver. I just like that part of our tree is in someone else’s hands far away from us. Christmas is the time to re-connect! bitsandpiecescard

This last one I made just by using lots of bits and pieces of leftover scraps laying on my desk or pulled from a kit. It isn’t as outright in it’s Christmas message, but it definitely is a holiday card and sort of mimics what was happening in my life when I made it. Take a peek. This is my desk right now in the middle of holiday scrapping, card-making and gift giving. I love a festive mess! =)

I hope that you are finding time to get a bit of crafting in even during this busy season. I wish I could send you ALL a handmade card! But just know that you are wished a wonderful holiday from me to you- wherever you are!
