I love using the Lilybee Mini Alphas found in the Fruit Smoothie June Add-on. They’re a sweet size and the font is perfect!
Using the mini alphas help pop up the journaling and draws the attention to the journaling on the page. I’ve recently played with them in two ways.
In this layout:
The alpha stickers make the phrase ‘You are So Cute’ but the words are spread out in the journaling section and are actually a part of the sentences where they appear.
To make it pop a little further, I’ve outlined these letters with black ink.
So the stickers have a double function in the page, simple yet effective journaling, adding another dimension to the text.
I’ve also used these alpha stickers to emphasize my titles. In the layout, using more bits and pieces from Cherry Soda I’ve used the alphas to create this effect.
I randomly placed the phrases in the journaling area before I started journaling. The words that pop up flow from the ‘I love you’ title and you can read the title both ways (including or excluding the words in red).
I then wrote the journaling in around the phrases, not worried about whether or not they fit into the text.
For a journal-heavy scrapbooker like me, the mostly handwritten text is a very important part of every layout for me. Being able to create a design element out of alpha stickers is fun and adds that bit of interest to the layout.
Hope you enjoy this mini tip! How else have you used these mini alphas?
