Tales from the Bunker: February Edition

I cannot believe how fast this month has gone! Can you believe next week is the March Kit reveal all ready! I have a lot to share with you this month so you may want to get comfortable First I wanted to give you a little recap of CHA, I have to apologize as I do not take many pictures at CHA due to the fact that I am usually walking around with a sticky pad and pen taking notes on what I like. But I did manage to snap a couple photos here and there. I’ve gotten this CHA thing down to a schedule that seems to really work well; the first day Ronda and I walk the whole floor, I take notes on what I like and what month I like it for, Ronda is always good at pointing out things that I sometimes just glance past and of course she helps navigate so that I don’t get lost LOL! The second day I hole up in the hotel room with the catalogs and my notes spread out putting the next few months kits together, thank God for room service and the ability to text Ronda for a 2nd look at some items! Then Ronda and I map out a route for the next day and I place all the orders! Easy peasy! I also get to spend a little bit of time with a few of the talented women on our DT. I got to see Emily, Kim and Nat!! I wish we could have had more time to spend together, hopefully Summer CHA! So here...
Tales from the Bunker January edition.

Tales from the Bunker January edition.

I took a little break from our “Tales” in December because, well, December was just plain crazy! I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday season and things are going well as this new year begins. We have had our stamp subscription up and going for a couple months now and it has been a big hit! With all things new you find you have to do a little tweaking, so after tossing ideas around in my head I have come up with a little bit of a change in how the stamp subscriptions and our stamps in general will be put together. What we have done in the past is have 3 stamps – 1 of which is part of the main kit and then 2 others that are available either ala carte or you get all 3 in a stamp subscription. The only problem with this is that if you subscribe to both the main kit and the stamps you end up with one duplicate each month. So we are switching things up a bit and beginning in March we will have FOUR stamps each month! The main kit will have an exclusive stamp that will only be available in the main kit. Then we will have three stamps that will be included in the stamp subscription and also be available for individual sale. And speaking of stamps did you see our sneak peek of the February stamps!! I think this month’s is my favorite set so far: Have you ever wondered how we come up with the ideas for our stamps? The Design Team is always...

I just wanted to let all of our stamp subscribers know that their stamps have been shipped today so you can start stalking your mail carriers! And just to tide you over till they get there here is a close look at the three stamps in this month’s subscription: We still have a few December stamp sets left and will start your subscription with December if you sign up soon! November Tales From The Bunker.

November Tales From The Bunker.

Can you believe we are almost done with November and looking at sneak peeks of December already! The months go by fast but this month seems to have really flown by. The highlight of this month was our fall crop, we all keep saying it was the best one yet and I really think it was. It was especially nice to see so many new faces. I was inspired by Sharmaine’s Jams and Jellies challenge so before I put away my November kit I created this layout: I love how the broken up stamped wine label image fits the theme of the layout in a subtle way. The Crafter’s Workshop stencil that was in the November Kit is so versatile! This was also our second month into our new Stamp Subscription. I received a good question from one our new stamp subscribers, Jennifer wondered if we would consider having an image of the stamp printed and included with the stamp. I told her that we do not so that we can keep costs down on our stamps, but I did promise her I would share what I do with my stamps. It is nice to have a stamped image on a transparency so that you can get an idea of how the image will look on your layout but a lot of times stamping on a regular transparency sheet doesn’t work well even with Staz On. So I use inkjet transparency sheets (normally used for overhead projectors). I like these because they have a rough side which helps the ink adhere and not smear: I use Staz On ink...
October Tales From The Bunker.

October Tales From The Bunker.

Hope most everyone has received their October kit and add-ons by now and are enjoying all the fall inspired goodies. I am happy to say that I am actually taking a few days off and writing this from the state of Wyoming. So glad I got to spend the afternoon with Ronda yesterday. I love that she lives so close to Jeffery and I get to see her often! OK, so on to few of the interesting things that happened at Cocoa Daisy this month. First of all Mom and Dad and I started a new tradition (totally by accident) this month. I had invited them over to have dinner with us and after dinner Mom was going to help me start to get things set up for packing the October kits. This consists of getting all the plastic packaging off the paper and embellishments that go in the kits. You would be surprised at how long this takes. Well my Father asked to help and between the three of us we got it done as Dad says “before Wheel of Fortune came on”. Needless to say it went a lot faster with three sets of hands instead of just one. So my Dad said that as long as I feed him dinner we can do this every month. I think we will! Here is a picture of my hardworking helpers: The new Stamp Subscriptions have been very popular! I particularly love how cute they look when they are all packaged up: I can’t wait for you to see the stamps we have lined for the next couple months!...
