Whew! What a month! April has shipped out with the debut of our new collaborative line with Simple Stories, our new Day in the Life project life kit, and we have let out some sneaks of the Project Art kit. Amidst all of this my Mom and Dad have been in the middle of packing up their home of the last 39 years and moving into a condo. A big life change for them, but I think they are really going to enjoy their new home.
I took the boys over to the old house this week for one last visit:
The May sneaks are up and again I can’t wait to share the full reveal of our main kit, add ons and our Day in the Life kit. This month’s mix of papers is going on my top 10! Speaking of sneaks, I’m sure you have noticed how the sneak images have changed. We are always looking to keep things updated and fresh and I felt that the old way of displaying our sneaks on the tags had run its course, so our resident graphic designer, Stephanie whipped up the amazing new sneak headers. I loved the headers that Stephanie created but I haven’t thought of exactly how I want to sneak the stamps yet, I think it’s important to give you an idea of what the stamps look like when they are actually stamped so a digital image won’t work. Then, late last night I finally had an idea hit me:
This sneak includes all of our stamps; Main Kit, Day in the Life kit, and the stamp subscription.
I am very thrilled to say that we have also updated our system so that if you have signed up for a subscription through Paypal it will now do an automatic withdrawal – no more monthly invoices!! I will be sending out a newsletter soon with all the details on how to switch your Paypal subscription over to this much more convenient system.
Make sure to join us on Sunday the 28th for the full reveal of our May kit at 9pm EST.
That’s all for now Hope everyone is having a wonderful Spring!
Here in Michigan it is still cold and grey, with a few mounds of snow scattered through the yard and to say I am ready for spring is an understatement! I am ready to see the flowers start poking up through the dirt and the leaf buds on the trees begin to open, but most of all I am just ready for some warmth in the air. But we have had plenty to keep our minds off the cold, grey weather with all the exciting new things we have been busy working on this month. I can’t wait for reveal this Thursday when we finally get to show you the exclusive papers we have created with Simple Stories, our new Day in the Life project life kit and of course our main kit, stamps and add ons. We are still working on the final details of our Project Art kit and should have some sneaks of that out mid April. I am hoping we will be debuting it with our May kit. We still have a few surprises coming up for April that I can’t wait to share with everyone!
My nephew Jacob (aka Jakey) has been doing a great job! We love having him here after school and he tells me he loves his job. I keep forgetting to take a picture of him in the bunker working, so for now I’ll have to just show him when he is being the awesome big cousin that he always is with Zach.
I am so thankful that we have Jakey working for us, my Mom and Dad have sold their home and will be moving into a condo in the next few weeks so they are pretty busy with all the work that goes into moving from a home that they have lived in for 39 years. I’ve called that “home” since I was 3 and will really miss it. Growing up in the country with lots of woods to explore in the summer, a barn filled with animals (which was later turned into an office when I was a teenager), a big yard to run around in and a pool; it was a great place to be a kid and I think that is what makes me sad is that the boys won’t be able to enjoy it any longer. But, my parents are getting older and they just cannot take care of it all any more and they are ready to make this change. I know they are going to love their new home and they are going to be able to relax a bit more. Plus they will be only 6 minutes down the road! Big bonus!
The end of March and April are shaping up to be pretty busy months! Make sure you subscribe to our newsletter and check in our Facebook page for all the latest sneaks and Cocoa Daisy news!
Have a wonderful week and make sure to join us on Thursday the 28th for the full reveal of our April kit at 9pm EST.
So far February has given me a chance to settle back into a normal monthly routine and allow me to move forward on all the great things coming in April. I know that April seems a long way off, but trust me, the wait will be well worth it! We are adding some amazing monthly exclusives to our main kit each month, we will be starting our Project Life add on and the special Project Art kit. Oh, and we even have some brand new Cocoa Daisy products that we will be unveiling in April too! The Bunker has been “a-buzzing” let me tell you! Make sure to check back with us over the coming weeks for more information.
With all of these exciting things coming up you won’t want to miss out, so if you are not a subscriber remember we are still running our special 3 month subscription promotion – but it ends March 1st! You can find all the info on that here.
As many of you know my Niece, Mary does a lot of work for Cocoa Daisy, but with graduation, upcoming summer events and college all right around the corner she is not going to be able to help as much as she has in the past. This makes me sad because she is an absolute burst of sunshine whenever she is here and to say that I am proud of her is an understatement. I will miss hearing her singing out loud to her iPod from the other room.
With Mary ready to move forward into the big world it leaves me needing a new helper, and thankfully, I have a dear sweet Nephew named Jacob (or Jakey as I call him) who wants to help out after school and he is starting this week, I’ll make sure to get some Bunker shots of him to post next month.
That’s about it for now, and I need to get busy!! Have a wonderful week.
January 2013, the beginning of a new year, I am excited for 2013 and all it’s possibilities. And I don’t think I could have had a better way to start off the year than to be able to hang out with these ladies at CHA! There really is something to be said for meeting people in real life and deepening friendships. Our Daisy Girls are the best! They are each as you would imagine, so warm and friendly, so amazingly talented and genuine! I think the best way for me to really express how special our getting together was, is to just say that each of us had a hard time holding back tears when it was time to say goodbye. I’ll share a few of our photos;
Sharmaine, Mandy, Denise and Lisa walking the floor with their Cocoa Daisy Ts:
Stephanie, Denise and Lisa. Lisa’s husband, Ade took this photo and it’s one of my favorites!
Lisa’s husband, Ade was so sweet and such a good sport putting up with all us girls:
Emily and Ronda were busy working and demoing at the show but we did manage to squeeze in a little bit of time together:
My amigos! I wish they lived closer!!
I hope you were able to follow our “flat Design Team” adventures while we were at CHA. Not all of our Design Team could make it to CHA so Mandy had the great idea of taking them with us “flat style”. Here is a photo of all of them tucked into bed:
This year’s CHA was so exciting, not only because I was able to spend time with special friends but also because of the new opportunities that have opened up for Cocoa Daisy. My head was spinning with ideas when I got on the plane to fly home and over the next few months I will be implementing them. I can’t wait to share all these exciting things with you! It’s going to be a GREAT year!!
There have been a number of our customers asking about what Cocoa Daisy will be doing concerning Project Life, I have posted a response on our message board but I thought I should post it here as well:
“This is something I’ve taken into consideration and discussed with the DT a lot. You need to know that while this is a business for me, I have a hard time promoting something that I’m not doing myself, just to make money on it. What I do believe in is showing our customers how to stretch their dollar and give you the best value.
In discussions, I’ve learned I’m not the only one overwhelmed at the thought of something like Project Life. I’ve also learned that there are many of you who love and embrace the idea. I pride myself in listening to what the members of Cocoa Daisy are asking for, so here’s a sneak at what I’m planning.
We want to show you how to do a PL type album, but with a Cocoa Daisy twist, and without having to go out and buy a lot of extra product. We want to show you ways we do this idea that fit into our lives, so you’ll see lots of variations on the theme. For instance, I do my Instagram album every month. Other members of the team will share their traditional PL approach. Still others will share their unique take on the idea.
We will be teaming up with an amazing manufacturer starting in April to bring you exclusive products every month to help you in your quest to document the every day, whether that is in a Project Life type album, an Instagram mini, an Art Journal or traditional layouts. We are incredibly excited about what this partnership will bring.
And yes, we will be bringing you a PL add on. More details will be shortcoming.”
I also wanted to address the add on availability; I know that last month they sold out very quickly and a number of our subscribers, especially our international subscribers were not able to purchase the add ons that they wanted. We know how frustrating that can be! It is a tricky balance trying to gauge the quantity of add ons each month and combine that with the need to order the product 2-3 months in advance and we sometimes fall short. I apologize for that, and beginning with the March kit we have been able to increase the quantity of add ons available. Thank you all so much for your patience as we work our way to finding the correct balance.
We are in full December rush mode here in the bunker, it seems like Christmas and New Years are sneaking up awfully fast this year! December’s kit has shipped out, we have started putting January together and the ideas for the February kit are well under way, and we have thoughts of CHA dancing in our heads.
I am excited about some fun, new little bits and pieces that we are adding to the packages your kit and stamps come in, be looking for those in your January kits. We are always looking for ways to make your kits feel even more special and we think you will like the changes we have made.
Of course in the midst of our normal Cocoa Daisy craziness we have found some time to add a little Holiday cheer to the house, Zach has been my little outdoor light coordinator and official tree trimmer while Nate has been very helpful in making sure I know what is on their Christmas lists
I haven’t been able to make Christmas cards this year but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make some gift tags with Jody’s Antler stamp:
Those antlers are perfect with the woodgrain paper! The wood grain paper is from Target just in case you are wondering
I hope that you are taking some time through this busy month to pause and enjoy the little moments and traditions that make the Holidays so special.
